Spoilers AHSOKA series [Spoiler Discussion]

That could be an option, but I was thinking more of something in print so we wouldn't have to deal with them recasting him. Although now that I think about it, if it was set all the way back in the Clone Wars era, there's a decent chance they'd recast with someone younger even if Ray Steveneson was still alive.

I mean, they recast Dooku.

And if it's animated it wouldn't be unusual to use different voice actors to live action, e.g Matt Lanter vs. Hayden Christensen, Sam Witwer vs. Peter Serafinowicz, or the reverse with Rosario Dwason vs. Ashley Eckstein..

While staying outside of the debate of whether it would be appropriate to recast Baylan in animation or whatever, even if they did go for an appearance in Tales of the Jedi, it would really only offer a glimpse into his backstory, just like the Dooku episodes in the first season of Tales. Any kind of in-depth look would almost certainly be better suited to a novel or comic series.

If they bring Baylen back for live action, they're recasting him. The only point of deepfaking is if they just need a couple scenes to give him a worthy death and have Shin take over for him.
While iconic characters deserve the actor who made them special and resonate, I don't believe that any particular actor can own the character after they die.
If Filoni & Co believe that they can suitably kill off Baylen and keep the main story on track, that is likely what they will end up doing. But recasting should not be a big deal if done respectfully enough to the work that came before.
No one can replace Stevenson, but a suitable actor can be found to take on the mantle.

OK, I guess waiting two whole days to show a little respect was just too much to ask . . .
Thrawn was known to use unconventional tactics to undermine the New Republic in the novels. If he can get his hands on an Interdictor or two or some cloaking devices he can not only bring his ships (or the enemies ships) out of hyperspace where he wants, he could also blockade worlds with cloaked rocks or mines. Even if there are only one or two dozen rocks in orbit, if they are cloaked and the enemy thinks there are hundreds, the planet is effectively blockaded with minimal resources used.
That's tactics. What I was talking about is strategy. You can interdict the odd New Republic cruiser, or sneak a cloaked ship into their midst all the live-long day, but it means nothing without a larger strategy and goals a little more specific than "win". You can't (re)build an Empire on naval engagements alone. There needs to be a long game, which as is happens is Thrawn's speciality.

Well the mystery is solved. After all these weeks with no hints, they've revealed that Sabine's Loth Cat has been snoozing this whole time . . .

ETA: Turns out this isn't just any old lo-fi track, it's a Kiner Lofi track! What the hell is Lofi anyway? I'm too old to understand new music trends. (Only being slightly facetious.) Also the cat's name is Murley.

Shit, I can't believe I forgot about this. I don't have time to watch it before The Voice comes on, so I'll wait and watch it tomorrow morning.

Well.. Okay.. Season 2? Is it here yet??
So, Dathomir?
Whats in the Crates??
Ezra stole a shuttle... of course he did..
So, the planet is connected to Mortis.. the Father, the Son.. And????????? Abeloth??
Morai!!
and Force Ghost Anikin..
Wonder if she kept the Sword??
Liked how Morgan was fighting.. can't do that with a lighsabre, using both hands like that.

So.. guess have to recast Ray Stevenson (RIP)
I nominate Dominic Purcell..

An okay episode. Didn't really have anything "big" to justify it being the finale. I was expecting dome big reveal with Stevenson's character or having Luke show up to greet Ezra. They didn't say if there was going to be a season 2.
Why didn't Ashoka go for the head with those Zombie Troopers? She used to do it all the time in Clone Wars. Disney have really censored this franchise since getting their hands on it. It's like watching a 4Kids version of Star Wars. :)
At least Ezra did it.
