And we're off!
What is it with Star Wars characters leaving maps to their location? The Luke one was never explained.
It was pretty good. That New Republic commander at the beginning should know that there is only one Jedi out there. Should have just blown them out from the sky at the start

There was a lot to take in in the first episode so I'm just going to post a few quick thoughts before I jump into the second.
To be numbered under things I wasn't expecting, but absolutely should have been, Clancy Brown bringing Ryder Azadi into live action. That was a very nice touch and it helped to bridge the gap between Rebels and Ahsoka nicely. And "Senator" Jai Kell? You've come a long way.
I love that it got the equivalent of an opening scroll.
Lothal was imagined perfectly for live action. It looked exactly the way it was supposed to.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Natasha Bordizzo were spectacular as Hera and Sabine. Even Eman Esfandi nailed Ezra in his brief appearance, emulating his animated counterparts mannerisms perfectly.
I actually wasn't expecting to see Thrawn right off the bat, but I am disappointed that we didn't get any Chopper, although I'm sure that will be remedied soon after I hit the play button again.
The dedication to Ray Stevenson was appropriate and touching.
Onward, to episode 2!

Okay, two solid episodes down. I like it. It has a more serious atmosphere than The Mandalorian or The Book of Boba Fett and the production design and look feel more lavish than for either of those series. The serious and somber moments remind me a lot of Obi-Wan Kenobi when that show wasn't getting sidetracked into goofiness.
That's what a friend of mine is conjecturing. This Inquisitor will be Ezra turned Dark Side by Thrawn.

I guess alot of people have "Some" force sensitivity, guess kind of like Finn in the movies.. but funny when Hu said.. You suck more than most at your force sensitivity.. HA HAHA..

It’s a crazy clone of him then. This is supposed to be a lose adaptation of the Thrawn trilogy after all
I think that's going to be the Mandalorian movie and the crazy clone is going to be of Moff Gideon.
I noticed that they made her lekku a little longer than they were in her first live-action appearances.
Okay. That did not suck.
I felt like I saw a good deal of both those episodes in trailers, clips, and so on. That's okay, because it means the vast majority of the upcoming episodes will be new stuff.
I think Sabine might be the first person we've seen survive a saber run-through. The actress is knocking it out of the park.
Love Chopper. There were moments when Mary Winstead was Hera, but most of the time she's not coming off as Hera. There was a 'mom' quality to animated Hera at all times, and a warmth that I'm not feeling here. She's definitely trying, though. Most of Hera's dialog I was trying to replay in my head with animated Hera. Weird, huh?
Great action sequences. Ahsoka herself seems a bit wooden. Very slow and contemplative. We'll see where it goes from here. EDIT: Others have commented that there is sort of a general sluggishness to the first two episodes. I can't disagree- they do seem slowly paced.
Noted that Ray's character isn't dead sold on killing Ahsoka. That could get interesting.
Morgan Elsbeth being a Dathomiri witch makes her fight with Ahsoka in Mandalorian episode 13 make a lot more sense. Until we get to Thrawn, she seems to be the BBEG even over and above the two Dark Jedi.

Probably no hard feelings towards the Jedi, or just means what he says of there being so few. He was a Jedi, though have strayed from the path towards mercenary.. He'll kill her no problem, but he doesn't have any hatred towards her.
Given that Christopher Lloyd's pleasure planet bureaucrat in Season 3 of The Mandalorian was still fiercely loyal to the Clone Wars Era Separatist ideals and to Count Dooku it should be no surprise that so many people under the employ of the New Republic would still display loyalty to the Empire, an even more recent and far more successful ideology that swept a lot more people under its dark allure.
