Agents of SHIELD season 5

Yeah, it seemed pretty clear to me that it was Antonov's preserved biological head fused to a robot body. And Elena's lines seemed to confirm that it was the real one, as did the fact that his death shut down all the drones he controlled.

So I guess that means he'll never become MODOK after all. Too bad.

I'm no Deke hater, generally I think he's ...ok. I was thoroughly laughing through his drugged ramblings and Mack's and Whatshername's reactions to it.

Yeah, it looked like a biological head attached to robot parts, so I assumed it was the real Ivanov, too. Plus, why else would all the drones stop working.

I was rather surprised that Yo-Yo hadn't yet tested her super-speed with her new robot arms. Seems like an obvious potential source of problems to me.

Poor Talbot, after everything Hale put him through now he's going have to add being a sleeper agent to that.
Loved May rant at Coulson and her ending it with I love you.
The scene with Deke waking up form the anesthetic was hilarious.
The Ruby/Daisy and Yo-Yo/Ivanov fights were both great. The Marvel and Arrowverse shows both manage to deliver some of the best fight scenes on TV on regular basis. The only show that does them better is Into The Badlands.
We're still only seven episodes into season five, but I am still struggling. I've not been the biggest fan of AoS, but I did enjoy season four.

This one ? Not very much.
This was episode seventeen not seven.
So, just in case anyone else made the same mistake I did, I hadn't realized that was the real Ivanov at the Hydra lab, so that's the Superior off the board. They probably could've been clearer that he'd moved his head out of its jar and mounted it to one of his doubles, though I suppose the fact that he intended to use the chamber himself, the fact that we'd never seen an Ivanov copy bring down all the others around when it was destroyed, and the very gooey head injury when he died was supposed to all make it clear it was really him. I figured he'd just had a limited supply of full-quality robots after Ada was destroyed, but I guess he didn't have any and we've been seeing the real guy this whole time.
Thanks for clearing that up, I was a bit confused when I noticed it was a flesh and blood head on a robot body. For anybody who didn't notice, when Yo-Yo killed him if you look where his shirt came open you can skin was attached to the robot body. So was it always his real head on the robot body, or did that just happen since the last time we saw him?

Found the ep On Demand, but it still began with 10 minutes of Trump, so I lost the last ten minutes. Grumble, grumble. I gather things went south with Fitz and Simmons and YoYo?

So, the LMD drones surrounded Fitz and Simmons. They sent Yo-Yo to sneak out behind them and get the Quinnjet. She did slip out of the lab, but ran into Ivanov. Despite her arms being all wonky, she managed to get the upper hand in their fight and shoved him through a second-floor window. When Ivanov was killed, all the drones shut down, which was good, because FitzSimmons were barricaded in the center of the lab waiting to die after their attempt to Butch and Sundance their way out failed ("I don't know what we were thinking!"). Unfortunately, Lil' Von Strucker and Ruby showed up and threatened to kill FitzSimmons unless they rebuilt the component Fitz smashed earlier in the episode. Luckily, Yo-Yo is still outside, so maybe she can rescue them next week.

Back at the Lighthouse, Deke woke up but was still drugged to the gills, and had some fun rambling about how he has a crush on Daisy, which makes him sad because she hates his guts, and also that he should have a secret handshake with Mack and also shave his head so he can be cool, like Mack. Also, Daisy get a signal on their captured drones (probably Ivanov getting smashed), and they're going to trace it, and, I assume, find FitzSimmons and Yo-Yo.

Finally, Daisy scared up an encrypted phone line so Talbott could call his family. While he was talking to his wife, she began feeding him classic Hydra brainwashing buzzwords about compliance and being rewarded, and we saw that she was apparently being threatened by Hale's attache we saw earlier in the episode being instructed to prepare the backup plan or plan b or however it was phrased.

I was wondering if the robot arms could keep up with her superhuman speed. Nope!

I watched it on demand Saturday, and the whole episode was there.

My wife wandered thru the room while I was watching and saw Ruby. I said "Yeah, in case you were wondering if Joss and Jed Whedon had anything to do with this - there's a kickass blonde teenage girl."
