Agents of SHIELD season 5

Is there a specific reason why shows like this are delayed in other countries? I could see if it was something that had to be translated, but for something like this I don't see why they don't just show it on the same day. Even with the translated stuff, Crunchyroll actually simulcasts subtitled versions of certain anime at the same time they're airing in Japan.

Yeah it doesn't make sense in this day and age.

Though is it the U.S producer of the U.K broadcaster that's responsible for the NTSC to PAL conversion? That when combined with timzenes could delay from a day or so to a week (depends on what day it's broadcast in the U.K).

Depends on the circumstances, I suppose. Other countries could have their own schedules, their own counter-programming, their own seasons and priorities. Maybe other territories have other things to run at 10 PM Friday nights? Or think that summer is a better time for spy-fi shows, which attract different demographics in different cultures? It may have nothing to do with AGENTS OF SHIELD and everything to do with what audiences in New Zealand or Sri Lanka are into these days. And whatever local programming might work better in that time slot.

In the USA, for instance, networks have to schedule around the World Series. That may be less of a concern in Cambodia, which may have its own must-see sporting events, holidays, and what-not.

So, yeah, Talbot is a HYDRA sleeper agent. :( The question is, was he programmed by Hale during his incarceration, or at some point in the past? It was unclear whether or not his wife was being tricked or coerced, or if she is also HYDRA. I'm guessing his brain damage will come to the rescue here by screwing up his programming.

Mack is now a surgeon-- and why not, since the human body is a kind of machine and Mack can fix anything? :D And Deke is a funny drunk. Good thing Daisy arrived a little too late to hear his ramblings. :rommie:

I was happy to see the Superior finally die. He was more annoying than threatening. But it looks like Ninja Girl and Strucker Boy will get control of the Doomsday Weapon. Will Fitz be able to sabotage it, or has he tried that in previous loops? Or will the fact that YoYo told them that Coulson must die break the loop? And how will Coulson's death save the world? By bringing back Ghost Rider?

Awww, and May had a tender moment. "I knew that would shut you up." :rommie:

Oh, I think it's 98% a given that Talbot was brainwashed by Hale, and not before. But while that twist was a blow (Glenn is just the best), I think we can all agree that the real tragedy of the ep was the revelation that Daisy isn't Piper's type! :sigh: :adore:

I am left wondering why the hell Deke went with Daisy and May in the first place, other than getting shot and causing problems?
I wondered that aloud, too. (Also why he seemed so calm about being in snow for the first time, though no one's breath was visible.) Are Piper and Davis the only other agents who stuck around after the big Episode 100 reunion?!

That being the real Ivanov (or what's left of him) could definitely have been clearer. I noticed all the blood, but didn't realize he'd taken his real head out there in hopes of upgrading what was left of his actual humanity, even though he pretty much said so aloud.

I'm pretty sure we've seen other background agents wandering around, and going out on missions since the 100th episode.

I'm wondering if actually Ruby becoming The Destroyer of Worlds rather than Daisy will end up being what breaks the time loop. Maybe they had an opportunity to use a potentially fatal method to stop Daisy in the past loop but couldn't bring themselves to do it since it was Daisy. If it's Ruby instead of Daisy, I can't see that being a problem this time around.

Maybe it was actually Ruby that destroyed the world all along. Maybe the only way to save the world is for Daisy to become the destroyer of worlds.

My theory is that they try (tried, will try, willan have-troyen) using the infusion machine to save Coulson, and it backfires terribly, either because there's (still?) some gravitonium in the system that infects him, or they try using some of Daisy's GH-laced blood and he had a bad reaction to her quaking powers. That'd also explain why it keeps happening; they think they stopped Ruby or whoever from destroying the world, and they get cocky.

I wonder if Coulson will end up dying at the end of the season to be brought back to life in Avenger Infinity War?

If not Infinity War then the next untitled Avengers movie. I don't think his appearance in Captain Marvel is based solely on the time period the film takes place in, the fact that it comes out between the 2 Avengers movies is important. And I don't think they would have done the Coulson dying plot line on Agents of Shield without a good reason, plenty of drama available without it. If we knew AoS was getting cancelled maybe I'd buy it, but I'm definitely in the "needs to be dead in movie continuity so he can be resurrected" camp

Yo YO seems to get dumber and dumber as the series progresses. I get the feeling her actions have just released them.

This was one of the show's darkest and most dangerous episodes to date. I was on edge for most of the episode, fearing for people's lives. I knew the moment things went haywire for Ruby (as we all knew it would), Alex would die at her hands...even if I hadn't expect it to be so graphic (shades of a certain character's death in Legion). I also didn't expect Ruby to die so quickly as well, but I'm not surprised she died at Yo-Yo's vengeful hands while trying to save the world. But of course, the world still isn't saved because Hale is understandably furious. A mother's scorn may lead to a scorched Earth.

I also feared for Talbot and his shattered mind. I feared he would kill he would kill Polly in his attempts to kidnap Robin, but fortunately he had just enough restraint to just render her unconscious. I knew Robin was never in any danger, but as soon as Phil and Mack caught up with them, I knew Talbot was going to turn the gun on himself. I love that Phil used his friendship with Talbot once again to talk some sense into him, even if it was only a temporary measure. I only just hope that Mack only wounded Talbot instead of killing him (I couldn't tell if Mack was using an icer or not). That would be a tragic end to Talbot's life.

The team may have survived, but just about everyone is badly wounded in some capacity and I fear for the worse in the few remaining episodes.

On a lighter note, I love how Phil and Mack egged on Deke's pathetic puppy dog love for Daisy and encouraged him to do the lemon thing.

Looks like next week, those aliens attack the lighthouse, while the Avengers fend off One Eyed Willie.
