Agents of Shield - Season 4

I finally got caught up just in time for the finale tonight, and this whole last batch of episodes were great.
The stuff in The Framework was a pretty fun What If? story, and I got a big kick out of seeing Trip and Ward again. I have to admit, when I first heard Brett Dalton was coming back already I groaned, but I actually ended up really liking Framework Ward. I liked the whole twist with him still being a traitor, but a good one this time was pretty good.
I was surprised they killed off Mace.
Mallory Jansen's Madame Hydra/Ophelia was a great villain, and Jansen really killed it once she was out in the real world.
I loved the finale.
I actually thought they were going to kill Mack, so I was happy when him and Yo-Yo actually did wake.
They got me with the LMD Simmons death.
Radcliffe's death was a nice moment. I'm going to miss him.
It was nice seeing Robbie/Ghost Rider again, and I especially got a big kick out of Ghost Rider Coulson.
Where do all the references to Ivanov being M.O.D.O.K. come from? I've been known to fall asleep during later airing shows, so I might have fallen asleep and missed something.
That was a very intriguing last scene. Could we be seeing Agents of S.W.O.R.D. next season?

They come from the scene where Ivanov said to Aida/Ophelia that his LMD bodies were "designed only for killing" (which is what the D.O.K. usually stands for), and the reference in the same conversation to the real Ivanov's severed head being kept alive somewhere to control the bodies (roughly similar to MODOK's appearance as a giant head with teeny arms and legs).

Ah, I think I missed the bit about his head. I do remember the line about being "designed only to kill", I just didn't connect it to M.O.D.O.K.

My favorite part:

IGN: Going back a little bit, how long have you been planning for Coulson to be the Ghost Rider -- and what was Clark Gregg's reaction to finding out that news?

Bell: To say he was happy, it would be an understatement.

Whedon: I think what he said when we told him was, "I didn't think I could geek out more," but he was like, "It seems I can."

I love that Clark Gregg is a big geek like Coulson. :D

Great finale, cool to see Ghost Rider, and with a huge twist. Lovely little ending for Radcliffe.

Lots of great set-up for next season. Is the team in space? Will we see Abigail Brand? Is Ivanov still running around in an unlimited supply of robot bodies destroying Shield's reputation on earth?

I'm a bit disappointed now that the Framework is gone, it can't be used as a way to bring Trip back in again, unless the show retcons its destruction from this episode.

Ouch.
Fitz would never build a massive networked computer system, without backing up the data! ;)

Also if they were to print anyone else, Ghost Rider would come back and kill them. Unless they find a way to do it that isn't Darkhold magic.

Could someone tell me what "S.W.O.R.D" is? I don't read the comic books so I don't always know all of the backstory behind some of the stuff I see on shows like this.

I haven't read many things involving them, so someone else I'm sure will have better detail, but basically SWORD is a more agressive version of SHIELD which focuses primarily (or theoretically is supposed to focus) on defending Earth from interstellar threats like alien invasions, etc, etc.

That's sounds intresting. Makes me wonder if we will see a crossover from "Guardians of the Galaxy" or "Thor." I think we could even see those aliens that were in the first "Avengers" movie.

^Yeah, somebody *really* wanted their name to spell "sword". ;)

I think S.W.O.R..D. is the most likely candidate given that the ship/station in the stinger appears to be of human design, not alien. I mean who else would have that capability? I like to think that while SHIELD was originally Peggy's baby, SWORD was Howard's and they've been operating out there this whole time.

Side note: is this the first time we've seen that paralysing glowstick thing since the first Iron Man?
