I've often said that I like the idea that the corpse is Mar-Vell *and* that he's staying dead. Assuming (for the sake of argument) Skye is going to be Ms. Marvel and the corpse is Mar-Vell then he's already fulfilled his purpose. He's a non-character and I think Ms. Marvel would be best served by *not* being a derivative of a male hero.

I think it's a poor assumption to think Skye is Ms. Marvel. There's a lot of talk of Carol Danvers getting a movie and I doubt that's going to change.

It's not an assumption so much as a speculation. One of several; though the only one I might add, in which it makes any sense for that corpse to be Mar-Vell. Which was the topic under discussion.

I just thought of something. When Ward witnessed Garrett drawing the diagram, why didn't he recognize it as the same type of diagram he saw in the Todorov building when he was completing Akela Amador's mission?

He had other things on his mind perhaps? Also, who's to say he didn't recognise it? It's not like the man is known for blurting out every thought that passes through his mind.

Sounds more like Hydra then Shield if you ask me.

Prior to The Winter Soldier, those were nearly the same thing.

Bit of an aside but I was watching TWS the other night and I was reminded of a nitpick someone brought up back when the movie came out. Specifically they complained that there was no foreshadowing of Hydra within SHIELD in any prior movie, citing specifically the fact that SHIELD had the cube (aka the Red Skull's ticket to world domination) and Neo-Hydra didn't use it to do so.

Anyway, it occurred to me during Zola's info dump that there actually was, albeit retroactively. Anyone remember "phase 2" of the Tesseract Project was? Developing tesseract powered weapons based on Hydra designs.

Not to mention in Thor, Selvig described SHIELD as jackbooted thugs when talking about a previous run in with them.

Erik wasn't quite so hostile towards SHIELD after Fury had a more diplomatic conversation with him, though. The Dark Matter/Tesseract project and lots of stable, long-term funding helped change the relationship, didn't it?

Interesting since he's a character most often at odds w/Hulk or Thor. He's a fairly heavy hitter so how will our Agents deal with him?

So I finally saw Guardians of the Galaxy. I noticed that a news report said that the Kree Empire-Nova Empire treaty was signed by the "Kree Emperor" and Nova Prime. Do the comics have a Kree Emperor? I thought the leader(s) was just the Supreme Intelligence.

And I while I did see that the red mark on Ronan's armor matchs G.H.'s scar, I believe the Dark Aster's computer text didn't match the diagrams from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. And the Dark Aster's interior had no text signs anywhere.

The Supreme Intelligence is usually depicted in the comics as being the effective emperor of the Kree. But the MCU continuity may have a different plan in mind, either for an actual person to rule or to serve as a front for the Supremor.

Not sure how to explain the visual discrepancies re: written language(s) amongst the Kree in the MCU. But you're right about the value of design consistency. It's bugged me on occasion re: SHIELD's own user interfaces, which vary from the movies to the TV series.

Well at least the computer interfaces of the Dark Aster and Knowhere and maybe some more aren't translated into English for the audience like the computers in the mugshots scene. *cough cough no one is supposed to know English*

Yeah, that bothered me as well. At least the Kyln computer consoles weren't done with English-Latin. Perhaps that's what Xandarian-Standard is supposed to actually look like?

Probably.

In the end when Nova Prime reveals Star-Lord's genetics to him, she refers to his mother as being from Earth/Terra. I wonder if that means that there are more humans in the Nova Empire than just Star-Lord. I doubt that the Nova Corps would have taken the word of a repeat offender alone when compiling their scientific database.

It's possible they know of Earth via the Asgard. Technically we're under Odin's protection and most of the rest of the universe knows better than to mess with Asgardians. Maybe even Thanos would think twice since his attempted invasion just so happened to coincide with the bifrost being down for what must have been the first time in thousands of years.

As for the english lettering on the GUI's, I think Quinn's rap sheet made mention of a translation implant or some such. It's not too great a leap to suppose that we heard and saw things as he did. I mean I highly doubt everyone was actually speaking english, no?

Well it helped that the Dark Elves managed to infiltrate, stage a prison break to keep everyone busy and knock out Asgard's defences. It was a kamikaze surprise raid, not an invasion. Plus with Asgard busy repairing and battening down the hatches, they could hardly do anything about the incursion on Earth. At least not in the 10-20 mins that passed from the ship appearing to when Malekith was taken out.

This is all moot anyway. The point is that we know that Asgardians are known by and have knowledge of the region of space we saw in GotG, thus it's *possible* that's how they know of Earth.
