Agents of SHIELD season 2 News, Rumors, Pics, etc. until release...

Re: Agents of SHIELD season 2 News, Rumors, Pics, etc. until release..

Agreed on that point. Granted that Marvel fans are dedicated, but we want to see new kids (of all ages) join the club.

The billboard doesn't exist in isolation. It's one part of a teaser campaign, meant to be mysterious and get people to wonder and ask questions. Later billboards and ads will no doubt reveal more.

Yeah, this kind of "mysterious" viral marketing is the big thing right now, so I'm not surprised they're going that route with AoS. That was practically all ABC did for Lost.

I also don't get the impression that they literally pumped their blood from body to body. I thought it had to be harnessed in some fashion.

Yeah, I think they specifically said they had to make several attempts at distilling or processing the Guest's fluids before getting a serum that was effective (hence GH-23.)

What's curious is why they were attempting it in the first place? They must have observed some notable tissue regeneration or healing, which mean he/it was most likely alive when they encountered it, which means SHIELD are probably the ones that killed him.

It'd certainly explain the state of the body if they had to practically blow him to pieces to make sure he stays down.

I'm convinced he's still alive, for what it's worth.

Well anything is possible, but for now I'm thinking that while some tissue is alive, the organism itself is effectively dead. As in too damaged to ever fully regenerate and eve if it did, the brain is so far gone that it'd be a mindless vegetable.

Of course that was before the base blew up. Logically those charges would have been placed specifically to make sure that the Guest would be vaporised in the blast.

What can you guys tell me about Adrianne Palicki? Is her casting good or bad?

Certainly, I think he's buried under that mountain, but my strong belief is that he is Mahr Vehl based on the initials G.H. Given that, I find it less likely he would be killed off.

He also has healing powers (as seen through the GH formula) and the ability to phase through walls (in the Ultimate comics). Given that, once he heals fully (now that they've stopped pumping chemicals from him), he can phase through the mountain over him and escape.

They may have observed the healing powers in another of his species and therefore grabbed a corpse when they had the chance.

I've often said that I like the idea that the corpse is Mar-Vell *and* that he's staying dead. Assuming (for the sake of argument) Skye is going to be Ms. Marvel and the corpse is Mar-Vell then he's already fulfilled his purpose. He's a non-character and I think Ms. Marvel would be best served by *not* being a derivative of a male hero.

Time will tell of course. He may come back, he may not even be Mar-Vell, but for now, I think that either way, it's better that he stays a mindless lump of broken meat and bones.

Possible, but that would mean another got away and failed to come back for the body of it's companion...or was also killed that that body is at some other facility. Possibilities abound. Of course the question of what they were doing on Earth and how Heimdell didn't spot them remains. (note: I've yet to see GotG, so that may already have been answered.)

Sounds more like Hydra then Shield if you ask me.

I can tell you that it inspired the following awesome exchange over at The AV Club:

I just thought of something. When Ward witnessed Garrett drawing the diagram, why didn't he recognize it as the same type of diagram he saw in the Todorov building when he was completing Akela Amador's mission?

He had other things on his mind perhaps? Also, who's to say he didn't recognise it? It's not like the man is known for blurting out every thought that passes through his mind.

Prior to The Winter Soldier, those were nearly the same thing.

Bit of an aside but I was watching TWS the other night and I was reminded of a nitpick someone brought up back when the movie came out. Specifically they complained that there was no foreshadowing of Hydra within SHIELD in any prior movie, citing specifically the fact that SHIELD had the cube (aka the Red Skull's ticket to world domination) and Neo-Hydra didn't use it to do so.

Anyway, it occurred to me during Zola's info dump that there actually was, albeit retroactively. Anyone remember "phase 2" of the Tesseract Project was? Developing tesseract powered weapons based on Hydra designs.
The further thought occurs that what if Project Insight was "phase 3" of that same plan? Had Loki not attacked and Thor hadn't ended up taking the cube to Asgard, would the insight carriers have been sporting Hydra inspired weaponry instead of those railguns (at least I think they're railguns)?
I mean a plan of that scale had to have been in the works for quite some time, no? While the attack on New York may have allowed them to accelerate certain things, it hardly seems likely that it was all conceived in the fly.

But I digress. As for the corpse...honestly I can see both actual SHIELD agents and Hydra moles dealing with a regenerating Kree with equal prejudice *if* it seemed to present a direct threat. For all we know, that thing went on a killing spree before that were able to take it down.

Re: Agents of SHIELD season 2 News, Rumors, Pics, etc. until release..

Indeed. Mr. Ward is now well-known for keeping his true thoughts to himself more often than not. Betting that both he and Garrett recognized the parallels between their target graphics in that covert linguistics lab in Belarus.
