Agents of SHIELD - Season 2 Discussion Threads. (Spoilers Likely)

In the comics, have they written the HYDRA infiltration and collapse of SHIELD into the continuity?

ETA: Is it just me, or does the comics version of Cal suddenly resemble Kyle MacLachlan?

Maybe it's because I haven bought a comic in about 25 years (except Judge Dredd) but I've been noticing art on various sites that shows all of the comics versions of people morphing a bit into their movie versions. Not just Sam Jackson Nick Fury, which was actually the other way around.

Yeah, he clearly does. Although I saw a pic awhile ago (have to dig it up) showing the original Calvin Zabo didn't look all that different.

They still have muscular Mr. Hyde look how he's looked since at least the 90s.

No, Daisy is Skye, and vice-versa.

The character hasn't appeared in the SHIELD comic by any name yet. There was some promo art that showed a character that resembled Chloe Bennet,, but that was to not spoil the reveal on the show.

I see. I just remembered seeing "Skye" in all of the comic's promo art, so I assumed there was a Skye character in the comics. I didn't realize that was a fake out.

Well, I've just watched part one of the season finale. I've got to say, the way the whole show is changing, seaon three may be rather good...

Part two was a bit of a let down. Not a total failure, but a little anticlimatic. After part one I'd expected...more !

Still hopeful for season three.

I still can't help but wonder what will happen to Jemma. With the way the Whedon's play it, she'll either be the next super hero or villain.

they are now using the Secret Warriors name to advertise season 3 (though it doesn't look like they're renaming the show or anything)

So that is going to be an official part of the show then. A lot of the people involved have been comparing Skye's team to the Secret Warriors, but I wasn't sure if that was actually going to be an official name in the comics.

Isn't the SHIELD comic out of continuity with the rest of the comic book universe?

It's part of the main Marvel U as far as I know. I believe the whole concept of the comic was the bring the AoS characters into the main Marvel Universe.

Yup. Same thing DC did with Harley Quinn and Renee Montoya from Batman: The Animated Series -- or, decades earlier, with Jimmy Olsen and Perry White from the Superman radio series. Not to mention Marvel doing it with Firestar from Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends and HERBIE the robot from the '78 Fantastic Four cartoon, and a few years ago with Phil Coulson.

I'm astounded to see Hickman's Secret Warriors series getting so much cache with the Cinematic Universe. They basically used it for the Winter Soldier movie and SHIELD. When it came out I don't think it sold very well and didn't make much of a splash in the larger continuity and seemed to be quickly forgotten. (I really liked it)
