Agents of SHIELD - Season 2 Discussion Threads. (Spoilers Likely)

The reason I'm leaning more towards it being SHIELD rather than Ultron is that he said that he couldn't say why he was in costume again. However, it's public knowledge that he went back for AoU re-shoots, so why would he have to keep that secret?

Good, seems like its been a while since we heard any juicy casting news from the back half of AOS season 2.

Wondering if Olmos gets to play the guy whom Pierce made sure got passed over in favour of Fury?

Awesome news!

Skye, what do you hear?
Nothing but the rain.

I'm guessing that SHIELD resumes some sort of regular status again and that he is appointed the new head of the agency over Coulson because Coulson chose to remain a fugitive rather than surrendering to the government. The only way they'll allow Coulson and their team to rejoin officially is if they have a government appointed agency head to oversee them.

The actor will portray Robert Gonzales, whose debut will have massive repercussions for Director Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his team.
The way that's worded doesn't suggest an enemy to me, but still someone who will shake things up for the team. Also, they made sure to mention Coulson's status as director. I'm probably reading too much into it, but that's the first thing that occurred to me.

But Age of Ultron's blurb states that S.H.I.E.L.D. is gone. True, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has made that statement not 100% literal, but what you posit seems like too big a stretch for Age of Ultron's premise to remain true.

I'm thrilled to hear about EJO's casting. This will actually be the first thing I've seen him in since BSG ended.

The raised the show's awesome factor just by announcing his casting. He doesn't even have to appear on the show now!

It'll be a happy payoff to actually have him show up, though.

Waiting for the first Twitter pic showing him off on-set with the cast...and you know there will be one.
