Agents of SHIELD - Season 2 Discussion Threads. (Spoilers Likely)

^Yeah, at this point I don't think anybody really thought that wasn't going to be the answer.
I loved this episode.
The flashbacks exploring Reinhart/Whitehall were interesting, and gave us a good some possibly back story on Skye's parents. I did not expect the tie in to Skye and her father's backstory.
I'm thinking at this point that Grant Ward was the one telling the truth, I find it kind of hard to believe he would do all of the stuff he did in the episode if his story about Christian wasn't true. I really don't think he is that nuts.
They really shocked me when Dr. Skye's Dad showed up after Tripp was shot. That was a great scene. I really thought Tripp might die, and I'm really glad he didn't.
I'm kind of shocked they are finding the city in next week's episode. I figured this storyline would go on for at least the whole season, if not multiple seasons.

As for the plotlines moving forward at speed...I'm not surprised. Marvel, ABC and Disney know the nature of their audience in several nations pretty well at this point, and they're counting on binge-watching to work in their favour.

I spent the whole episode wondering where I had seen Skye's mom before. Then I remembered: Being Human. I do hope we see more of her in flashbacks; she's too good to waste like that.

So now Crazy Ward is teamed up with Crazy Daddy. The two people who obsess over Skye are now on a buddy adventure. Was this Ward's purpose in going back to HYDRA?

Man, I thought for sure that Tripp was doomed. I'm glad they didn't go that route.

She was also a regular on Dollhouse, and on that 1-season submarine show "Last Resort".

Thinking and saying so publicly are two very different things, especially where politicians are concerned. No doubt they're trying to put as much of a positive spin on it as possible...or they really have no clue as to the extent of what's going on.

Considering that the Insight-class 'Carriers had President Ellis targeted among the first million to die via the Zola Algorithm...yeah. "Funny" is a good word for their official opinion on the subject.

Their unofficial opinion, on the other hand...we don't know that anymore than we do the disposition of the remaining Helicarriers that weren't attached to Project Insight.

I almost didn't recognize Dollhouse's Dichen Lachman as (presumably) Skye's mom. I think that this is the first time I've seen her when she wasn't blonde.

When I saw her, I recalled she was born in Nepal, which is in the Himalayas. And of course the Himalayas are also the location of Attilan, the hidden home of the Inhumans. So I wasn't surprised she and the artifact had a connection.

Fantastic episode. I'm liking Ward's mad-dog attitude. I'm also enjoying the background Agents of Shield. It's more of an organization than just a team.

Fitz is showing progress. After his discussion with Mack about Coulson going in the machine, I thought he would go in himself though I felt a bit of acceptance in his last performance.

And now that Coulson is cured, is he going back in the field again?

According to Wikipedia, she's got a Nepalese mother of Tibetan descent and an Australian father of German descent.

For anyone who couldn't tell, that was Mandarin that Skye's mom spoke. I'm too bad at Mandarin to tell how good Lachman spoke it. Though for the purposes of a U.S. TV series, it was presumably fluent native Mandarin.
