Agent Carter - Season 2

^^ Not even forward? That would lower production costs.

Yes, the petitions are probably not going to do any good-- except maybe make the cast and producers feel good, which makes them worth it right there. But it doesn't hurt to try. As a couple of my friends have pointed out, petitions helped bring out Serenity and Peacekeeper Wars. Sure, Serenity sucked, but it happened.

There's also the possibility that Marvel-Disney wants to keep Agent Carter alive for the prestige factor. It's really their class act. This may help tip the scales.

Passed 50k, new goal is 75k.
And they're just under 71k now.

How about an Earth-involving major sci-fi franchise with no time travel whatsoever? That'd be nice.
The MCU isn't a sci-fi franchise though. It's multi-genre and that includes fantasy and yes, occasionally time travel.

They also helped Veronica Mars and I think Community.

Finally got around to signing. They're just a few hundred off 75K now
Wow, we these kinds of numbers they might actually manage to at least get Marvel's attention.

Loved AC season two. But with Haley Atwell's new tv series being picked up by ABC, Agent Carter's cliff hanger will probably remain as such, unless ABC does a mini-series or a special AC movie and wrap up the loose ends.

So I was watching this Todd in the Shadows review of Madonna's W.E., and... lo! Our own Jarvis in period clothing once more! (Prior to Agent Carter, that is.) Also: Apocalypse! Definitely worth a watch for us Peggy and Jarvis fans. (The review, that is, not the movie. Lord, no!) :p

Why Netflix passed on Agent Carter...

“We’re looking for truly original brands to own,” Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos told Entertainment Weekly. “And in that Marvel space we already have [original comic book shows] – so that was mostly why.”

...

“They also have some output deal complexities,” Sarandos explained. “So when you pick it up, being able to pick it up globally is difficult even after it’s canceled. Some of those output partners still had it on the air, so they would argue its covered by their output [deals]. Unfortunately, it was a business decision more than a creative one.”

Is it just me, or are those statements slightly contradictory?

They seem consistent to me. They want properties that they can own fully (at least the TV rights thereto), and since Agent Carter was a show they'd have to inherit from somewhere else, that means Netflix wouldn't be able to own it fully, because others would have a stake in it.
