Re: What actors / characters / plots do you want to see in Star Trek X

I like to see a mirror mirror one, where pike is captian of the iss enterprise and kirk never joined starfleet come up against kirk and crew both ships evenly matched .Would allow a more darker role for pike(Bruce greenwood ),so we can get more screen time .

You could tie that in with Spock messing about seeing if he can get back to his own universe....

Having said that, I think a Mirror Universe story would only remind viewers that what we're watching is technically an alternate universe. I'm not sure how wise it would be to remind folk that what we're watchin isn't the real Star Trek.

As for a sequel, I'm aching to see Klingons with smooth foreheads.

Re: Should Shatner return in a sequel?

I really hope not. I think the baton has been passed and this new cast should run with it now.

I agree..no one on this site has their nose up shatner's ass more than I do...but the baton, as you said, was passed on. Nimoy should never return either...its done...

Re: Should Shatner return in a sequel?

No, no, no, no, no, no, NO!

Old plot device. We've kicked that dead tribble enough. Let's just punt it into orbit and move on!

I appreciate Mr. Shatner's contributions. But "Star Trek" is more than just about Mr. Shatner, Mr. Nimoy, and anyone else. It has its own life. Let us let the legend live in its own right.

Re: Should Shatner return in a sequel?

I think he should return as a descendant of Denny Crane and represent Spock in a paternity suit brought on by Uhuara. Then we could have Uhura marrying someone else and a Bridezilla episode centering around her. :)

There are always...possiblities!!!

Re: Should Shatner return in a sequel?

No. I like Shatner, but that ship has sailed. I would prefer a straight forward story over weighing it down with the painfully contrived contortions it would take to make his return work.

cool idea for trek XII

while i was going for a run today i had the crazy idea of bringing in general chang (from star trek VI) as the villain for the next trek movie. only this time, kirk and he meet much earlier in there careers. i think it would be a cool way to reintroduce the klingons...

Re: cool idea for trek XII

How 'bout no? Ripping villains and stories from the first 6 movies like that will do way more harm than good.

Re: cool idea for trek XII

Sorry, but no. My only two images for the next movie that involve using anything from the previous series involve the Mirror Universe and Guardian of Forever.

Although I'd prefer to see something entirely new, complete with nostalgic trappings of TOS.

Re: cool idea for trek XII

I think they should adapt (changing as needed) "The Chimes at Midnight" for the next three movies. I mean, who doesn't wanna see the problems that would result when Spock's katra can't be reconnected with his body at Vulcan? :bolian:

What? Why are you all looking at me like that? :shifty: :(

:D

Not a cool idea imo...
Generally speaking, Klingons as the main enemy for XII is not really a cool idea.

Can we have something entirely new please ?

Re: cool idea for trek XII

If they hadn't already appeared in four of the six TOS movies, I'd feel better about the idea.

The only way I'd be down with it is if they introduced a Klingon antagonist for Kirk who was as strong a leader in his own right as Kirk is, and the conflict revolved around something between them other than an inevitible shoot-em-up-blow-em-up at the end of the movie

Re: What actors / characters / plots do you want to see in Star Trek X

Let's hear some ideas for what everyone wants to see in the sequel to this summer's hit film.

Personally I'd like to see:

- Spock Prime uniting the Vulcan race (the surviving population) with the existing Romulan Empire of 2258 to be one united species.

- Spock would technically be achieving the reunification he wanted in TNG

- The Federation and the Romulan/Vulcan civilization could be allies.. and the Klingons would definitely want to destroy such an alliance.

- It would be incredibly ironic for Nero. His actions in destroying Vulcan would unite the Federation and Romulans together; instead of destroying the Federation. It would be similar to Alan Moore's Watchmen; when Oxymandias launches a devastating nuclear attack that results in the world powers uniting.

- Kang, Kor and Koloth would need to be in it.

- I'd like to see Kirk fighting a Gorn too; that'd be epic (CGI like the animals on Delta Vega)

- I'd like to see Janice Rand and Nurse Chapel;

I'd like Kristen Bell (Heroes) for Janice Rand:

And Sarah Lancaster (Chuck) for Nurse Chapel:

- I'd like to see flashbacks of the Earth/Romulan Wars; to put their new alliance in context.

- I'd like to see modern versions of the dress uniforms and Captain's casual attire uniform

- I'd like some cameos by memorable TOS secondary characters; Mudd, Richard Daystrom etc

- I'd like to see the Andorians and Tellerites as part of the Federation council

That's it for now.
Kristen Bell as Rand?! A bad idea for two reasons. First, she is nothing like Rand. For Rand you'd need someone curvy, passive and not too bright-looking... a Scarlet Johansson type. KB is small and energetic.

Second... if KB was cast as Rand with ZQ playing Spock, Rand would have more chemistry with Spock than Kirk, and that would be awfully weird! :vulcan:

Re: What actors / characters / plots do you want to see in Star Trek X

Brian Blessed as the leader of the Klingons.

"KIRK'S ALIIIIIIIVE?!"

"KAHLESS! FRESH HORSES!"

YES!!! The only way I'd stomach seeing another $@$%&! Klingon in a Star Trek movie.

Love all of this...especially Bell as Rand

These are pretty good, though I'd rather see Kristen Bell as Christine Chapel, who, instead of pining away over Spock, spends much of the movie hitting on him aggressively. Sarah Lancaster is not a bad suggestion, but I could see her more as Janice Rand - but not pathetic. The personalities of the women in this version of Star Trek should not resemble those of doormats.

I'm not so thrilled about the Gorn idea, though a CGI Gorn does open up interesting possibilities.

As for the reunification idea, I like it, though I could see it yielding the opposite of Spock's objectives. Instead of Romulans becoming more like Vulcans, many of the remaining Vulcans decide to become more like Romulans.

Re: What do you want to see in Star Trek XII (The Sequel) ??

I'd like to see some other TOS characters not glimpsed in the new movie. Maybe get a story going with some Klingons or something, but I dunno. I dont really want to see them simply remake TOS episodes with a different spin, stretched into a 2 hour movie. It'd kinda defeat the purpose of starting over, you know?

Although a 150 million dollar version of "The Doomsday Machine" would be pretty damned cool.... Hmmmmm..... ;)

Hmmmmmmmmm.....That would be interesting..we could see the first battle with the Constellation...and who would play Decker?
