a TREK no more!

Is there an episode from any of the Trek series that hated so bad, or found so forgetable, you will never watch it again as long as you live? Even mentioning it in this thread may cause you to have "night terrors" as you "move along home" from this thread???

I have only seen "Night Terrors" once, when it aired, and that was many years ago now. I doubt I will ever lose another hour of my life to that episode, "Shades of Grey" being another.

The bad "TOS" episodes (IMO)? And the Children Shall Lead/Spocks Brain and This Way to Eden? I could probably see myself seeing them each one more time each because at least I can watch Shatner chew the scenery.

But dud episodes from Modern Trek? I doubt I ever will see them again.

What about you? What is a STAR TREK you will never take again (awwww...wasn't that cool how I ended it? I thought so...)

Rob

Other than the entirety of Enterprise? Only "Skin of Evil" ... Well, not so much that it's bad, just that I've never watched it.

I managed to miss it the first two times it aired back in ... what, 88? And it's become sort of a running gag that I haven't seen it. I own the entirety of Star Trek on dvd, but I still haven't watched it. I like the idea that, even with hundreds of hours of Trek episodes and movies viewed, there is still something I haven't seen, one "new" episode out there.

Honestly nothing comes to mind. Nothing specific, anyway. I know there are several TOS and TNG episodes I probably wouldn't watch again unless I was with someone who had never seen them before and wanted to.

I probably won't ever watch Voyager again. Does that count?

"Spock's Brain", "Sub Rosa", and "Threshold"

They were too ridiculous for me to ever watch again. In fact, I wish I could get that time back.

No. I love Star Trek so much that I would rather watch even the episodes I don't care for than most anything else.

The Original Series

Just
Yeah..... sorry and all.... I know it's the holy grail of Trekdom and it started it all off and everything
But, no, sorry. Too cheesy, too sexist.... too boring.

There's actually a lot to choose from; from TOS Catspaw,Plato's Stepchldren, and The Way to Eden spring to mind. Almost anything from TNG's first season (there is some pretty painful stuff there), probably 60% of Voyager.Although Enterprise gets slammed a lot, the list of real, honest to God stinkers is fairly low. Sure, there's some forgettable stuff, but nothing really downright as hideous as the above mention episodes. Of course, that's just my opinion.

Actually I do occasionally watch some really bad episodes or movies to see if my opinion changed or if I notice anything redeemable. I've even re-watched Threshold and STV a few times over the years, and they are clearly the worst Trek ever. Also helps to appreciate all the good episodes out there...and there area lot of them!

I agree with RAMA there are over 600 of solid episodes of Star Trek and the beauty of them is that most of them are so rewatchable. Unlike many new series I have watched like 24, Lost or BSG. They are so arc heavy that its just too tedious. With Trek on the other hand you can gain so mutch from a single episode.

However, I think it's safe to say I will never rewatch Enterprise in its entirety. In fact I will probably never rewatch more than half of the episodes if that and I have no plans on watching any of it in the near future. With the rest of Star Trek I will probably avoid The Way to Eden, Manhunt, Shades of Gray, Menage a Troi, A Fistful of Datas, Descent, Sub Rosa, Meridian, Fascinations, The Muse, Ferengi Love Songs, Profit and Lace, The Emperor's New Cloak, Darkling and Fury for good. I have watched them and rewatched them and they are simply irredeemable. The idea of watching Profit and Lace again certainly sends shivers down my spine! Yuck! What's weird with these episodes is that all sense of quality control seems to have been thrown overboard. I can't even think of another quality TV series that had episodes this bad.

Im not sure about that. About a month ago we started to re-watch 24 and haven't been able to stop. We're just about to season six already. I guess if you mean it isn't good for stand alones, then yeah, I agree.

But..then again..we are loving it again.

There are plenty of episodes from each series that I won't watch all the way through anymore. Life is too short to force yourself through something that you know from experience that you don't like. Just fast-forward to the best parts and move on.

TOS - Mudd's Women, Catspaw, The Apple, And the Children Shall Lead, Spock's Brain, Plato's Stepchildren, Turnabout Intruder

TNG - Encounter at Farpoint, The Naked Now, Code of Honor, The Last Outpost, Lonely Among Us, Justice, Haven, The Big Goodbye, Angel One, 11001001, Too Short a Season, When the Bough Breaks, Home Soil, Coming of Age, The Arsenal of Freedom, We'll Always Have Paris, Conspiracy, The Outrageous Okona, The Schizoid Man, The Dauphin, Contagion, The Royale, Pen Pals, Samaritan Snare, Up the Long Ladder, Shades of Grey, The Ensigns of Command, Who Watches the Watchers, The High Ground, Night Terrors, The Masterpiece Society, The Inner Light, Man of the People

DS9 - Move Along Home, Paradise, Meridian, Let He Who is Without Sin..., Far Beyond the Stars, Valiant, Profit and Lace

VOY - Threshold, Tuvix, Coda, The Fight, 11:59, Fair Haven, Spirit Folk

ENT - Cogenitor, TATV

I just realized that with the exceptions of TNG and ENT, there's exactly seven episodes from each series I feel this way about. And, if you don't count the ones I included from TNG's first two seasons, that show has seven as well. Fascinating.

Some of them bad ones have best parts? I don't even bother with the teaser...

Rob

I am an optimist by nature, so I wrote down at least one thing I like about every episode that I don't care for as a whole. For example, "Dragon's Teeth" is not a great episode, but the effects sequences are some of the best work done on Voyager. It would be a shame to never see that again just because I don't like the entire episode.

Whoa...Dragons Teeth? Wow, I think that's one of Voyagers best episodes. I just watched it a month ago. I liked the concept of a super race before the Borg, waking up, and with our help no less, and becoming a threat again. That is the episode right?

Rob

That is the one.

Using a more universally reviled episode, "Meridian" still has a passable B-story with Quark and the holocamera quest.

There is no way I will ever watch "Plato's Stepchildren" or "And the Children Will Lead" ever again. They were such torture to watch the first time, I could barely get through them (I had to look away from the screen constantly because I was so outraged) and I felt like never watching any Star Trek ever again after watching each. They disgusted and repulsed me with their grating stupidity (not to mention writing, acting, direction, and music) more than any episodes of any TV series I've ever watched.
