I don't know... this news kind of bugs me.
I suppose one approach would be to make a period science fiction horror movie, close to the original film or the 1957 novella by George Langelaan. I wouldn't mind another film about a lone scientist who tragically screws around with science he doesn't understand, as opposed to another modern update with another evil corporation as a plot element.Cronnenberg? Again? His version he made in the 1980s with Goldblum was pitch-perfect. He wouldn't do the sequel (which had potential, but just wasn't the same without Cronnenberg's involvement), so why would he do a remake of a remake [that had a sequel] (of a movie that had two sequels).
Help meeeeeeee.
If this is TRUE then this will be very interesting to see how this turns out. Now my question is will we Actually see the fly, FLY in this movie?I'm only interested because of Cronenberg's attachment.
Link.
But with Cronenberg attached, it might be interesting to see how he'd do it today.
The dreaded threemake.
