A Quick Note About My Rants

Some of you take them way to seriously, telling me I need to calm down, etc.

You're obviously missing the "joke."

My rants are for "entertainment value" only and are in no (direct) way reflective of my personality or additude towards people in real life.

Sure, my rants ARE things that "bug" me or I notice but only because I'm observant. So I post a list here for an entertainment purpose and try and to spice-up the language and narrative a bit to make it "entertaining."

I mean, you wouldn't say the Nostalgia Critic needs to calm down and not get worked up over things or that the Angry Video Game Nerd needs to stop taking dumps on electronics and old game-carts, right?

No, you wouldn't. Because you realize that their "characters" are doing these things as a bit of entertainment.

Me? Same thing.

If you were to meet me IRL you'd find me to be a very easy-going, very funny, person.

Try not to take my little "threads" too seriously.

(Unless you think Jayson really does lust after monkies dressed as cheerleaders and everything Mad Baggins has done is "real." Granted, my "character" is usually limited to the odd thread/post and is not as extreme as those other guys.)

Trekker: Rants ARE taken very seriously on here. Although I haven't come on here in a while, I've learned not to take things as seriously as I have done in the past. On message boards I only believe about 50% of what I read(if that!). I guess there's no worries on that..but some people take rants seriously..especially on TBBS! So you have to watch out or either point out that "hey, I'm only kidding, etc..." when you DO say stuff like that.

The "joke" sometimes misses its mark, then. Sometimes there's entertainment value, but sometimes it's just ... irritating. And considering how many of your threads seem to be bitching about other people, it's not a huge step to read it as part of your personality and attitude towards the people you encounter.

If this isn't the case, then you're not really presenting yourself accurately on the forum. I realize that we all exaggerate things, but it's difficult to read all of your rants as some big long joke.

You're a funny guy, you just need new material. The ranting schtick got old, but I'm sure you'll come up with something new.

The BBS is like a safe open mic - the most one gets here is silence or the very mildest of heckling, so try out a few new angles.
