Whatever happened to the Spanish branch of the Picards?

At an extended family reunion, over 500 people turned up, and there was this old lady asking the men if they wanted to change their name to "Spencer" because there wasn't enough of them left.
Some what desperate.
My wife was the last with her family last name. When we married she took my last name and I heart later that her grandmother was offended that I didn't take their last name.

We can see that in course oblivion where alt Janeway follow a course of action that is downright insane and yet the crew barely say anything... the only one who grumbles audibly is Tom Paris.
And notably from "Scorpion," until Janeway decides to ally, the Borg are as close to pure evil as it comes, then Janeway says to form an alliance, Paris is initially puzzled (not really objecting just puzzled) then after the meeting everyone except Chakotay is thinking it can work and has no objections.
