Star Trek is at its absolute worst when it takes itself too seriously.
Yup. Got it.Star Trek is at its absolute worst when it takes itself too seriously.
Star Wars/Clone Wars disagrees with you.cartoons tend to be sitcoms
The worst.All terrible.
I don't think you fully grasp the concept of taking oneself too seriously.Yup. Got it.

Right.I don't think you fully grasp the concept of taking oneself too seriously.
Really? Point out the levity in "The Drumhead". I'll pull up a chair.I am right. WOK doesn't take itself too seriously. There are several moments throughout the film where Meyer deliberately winks at the audience.
Most of the others you listed still manage enough levity to show they're self-aware enough to address the ray guns and green women in the room.
Okay. I don't agree, but this is as far as I'm willing to go.I did say most.
Drumhead is shit.
Star Trek is at its absolute worst when it takes itself too seriously.

Star Trek works best when it acts like a serious sci-fi show and not Rick and Morty featuring Star Trek.
Exactly. Star Trek is a large sandbox for story telling. Telling an entertaining story is job one.Star Trek works best when it is entertaining. Lower Decks, for me, is wildly entertaining.
Deep Space Nine is a good place to start.

Winks at the audience are fine. "HERE'S A REFERENCE FROM TOS, HERES A REFERECNE FROM TNG, REMEMBER SUB ROSA?!!!" is just. I think comedy works best when a show takes its premise seriously (The Office for example). The crew of the Cerritos knows they are in a Star Trek show and act accordingly.
Perhaps just needing validation of the point of view? Especially since it appears to be in the minority POV? I can at least appreciate that since I hold a number of points of view that would be considered minority in the Trek community. You do this almost every week and with each new episode.
Is there some misconception on your part that we don’t understand your position in these matters? Because it feels awfully repetitive
