A Medical Update

It has been quite a while since my last one...I wanna say early this year sometime. I believe that I had just started physio again. Well, I've exhausted my ten free sessions that are covered by my disability and they were so needed. I've also started sleeping with memory foam as of two months ago...and the difference with my back is amazing. I'd say there's been at least a 60 percent difference in pain decrease.

There's been such a difference that I've not had a T3 in about three months now, and am back to just taking ibuprofen for the swelling and tackle the pain I can tolerate. I'm still physically limited to what I can do because of my foot and lower back, but the upper back and shoulders have been fine. I honestly haven't felt this great in a very long time. Probably since post second foot surgery back in '08. I've been exercising in a limited basis and plan on going back swimming soon. Getting my diet under control is the next plan. My weight has fluctuated on and off the past several months. I need to find some kind of a balance.

So for those who have been following my progress for these past few years...it seems there is finally some significant improvement happening. It's not going to be fully 100 percent, but I'll take whatever improvement that I can.

Good to hear. Memory foam really is good stuff. Absolutely cured a chronically sore neck while sleeping.

Great news! I'm glad to hear that things are finally looking up for you. Hopefully your progress will continue along that trajectory.

I should mention something that I forgot...I'm still misaligned, quite significantly. Apparently that is something that is going to take a little more extensive work. I inquired about possible surgery and was told by a couple of different doctors (including my own) that it wouldn't do anything despite x-rays showing proof. I was recently approved for a medical tax benefit which I'm still researching, apparently I have full coverage through it..so I'll be able to go back.

Glad to hear this, AY. It seems that with every update things get a little better. :bolian:

Good news!

I'm thinking about this memory foam myself. I have a C7/T1 issue that pinches some nerve no matter how I sleep.

If I sleep on my front too long, it eases the pain behind the right shoulder blade, but increases the pain in the left shoulder, and so on.

I've got to say Admiral Young, you've got a great attitude about all this. So many people would fixate on the negative elements and all I can remember you posting about whenever this subject comes up is your optimism. I'm genuinely happy to hear that your not suffering as much, that the pain is decreasing and that the road to recovery is a little closer to being finished.

We like to joke sometimes online about how "You're Doing It Wrong" and what not ... but you, my friend, are doing it right.

I like to be as optimistic as possible with this stuff, there have been set backs and bad moments but the positive has actually outweighed those times surprisingly enough! Thanks for all the responses!

You're the true embodiment of my dad's philosophy on life, Adam: "Positive brings positive!" and I admire it greatly.
