Spoilers A big hint about the finale/season 3 has dropped...

That accident doesn't happen for at least another 9-10 years in universe.

"The Menagerie" implies the accident happened fairly recently to the events of that episode.
right. i think pike knowing his fate along with the audience actually makes the character even more viable for stories about him. prequels are usually hamstrung by the audience knowing how everything works out, in this case the character now knows it too. that's pretty interesting to me.

And this is where my TOS-era forgetfulness comes into full bloom. I didn’t grow up on it (except the last original series film) and it’s always been my weakest link. LOL.

Well check and mate to that hot take, then. Give me Pike show.

Nimoys second wife married him when he was 58. Im not sure she even knew him at the time Nimoy was 31, the age of Quinto when he was cast.

Yeah... um, you've never shown pictures to people of when you were younger? I'm willing to bet Leonard Nimoy showed old pictures of himself to his wife. And she probably did vice versa. And how the f___ would his is own f___ing wife not know what he looked like when he was younger whether she knew him back then or not?

This is stupid. You're being obtuse on purpose and you know it. Cut the crap.

@fireproof78, don't even bother with this. There's no point.

Nimoy approved of Quinto, I imagine he would’ve approved of Ethan Peck.

So here’s my “hot take” (ugh) opinion, apparently. I don’t want a Pike show. Anson is fantastic, yes, but if Pike is about to meet his grim fate then the show would be a prequel to the events of Discovery S2 and I’m just. Kinda. Done. With the prequel thing. ;_;

Plenty fair, yeah. I disagree with one thing — I feel like the natural conclusion to Michael’s story is to see her become captain and, ideally, experience what that’s like for a season. In that sense I’m not sure we’re quite that close to the end of her story.

I agree that Pike and Georgiou are better, though.

Fair enough! Thanks for having a stronger memory, lol. That said, I can still see it happening. But maybe not. We’ll see!

Mercifully, we won’t have to wait much longer to find out.

Honestly, I would like to see a show where the captain rolls around in a beep box and can only answer yes know questions.

At the age of 31 Nimoy appeared in the easy to obtain and watch Zombies of the Stratosphere. Just about anyone over the past few decades who has wanted to see him at 31 have been able to do so.

“With Discovery, we decided to focus on someone who wasn’t the captain for the first time in franchise history. And now, with The Voyages, our plan is to focus so damn much on every other character but the captain that all the captain can ever do is beep. We’re thrilled to bring this bold new interpretation of language to the fans.”

Sold!

Man, if you think that is a personal attack, you haven't been on the internet for long.

Bad language isn't against board rules.

We are here to discuss Star Trek (and in my posts, the actors and their resemblances to each other). Not other posters. As this thread seems to have shifted from Star Trek (Nimoy, Quinto, Star Trek in general) and to posts about me, it is to be blunt uncalled for. I made the appropriate followup report and am leaving.

If they go five hundred years in the future, I hope we get to check out what's up on the Kelpian homeworld.

Yes! This is exactly what they should do. By 500 years hence, they'll have made short work of the Ba'ul and their new, improved, reformed society should be in place.

Hopefully, they haven't turned predatory. Although, maybe, who knows?
