I forgot about those guys. They had some nice videos.
Two more hits from the late 90s...
The Verve - "Bittersweet Symphony"
New Radicals - "You Get What You Give"

I was just about to mention Bittersweet Symphony, because for some inexplicable reason they have been playing it on the radio a lot lately.
"S.M.D.U." - Brock Landers
"Come To Daddy"And the Electronic craze - Moby, Fatboy Slim, Chemical Brothers, even Aphex Twin's "Come to Daddy"![]()

More eclectic selections from the 90s:
"Justified and Ancient (Stand By The JAMMs)" - KLF. We lost Tammy Wynette in the 90s.A real shame, this 1991 smash hit was without doubt her finest hour.
I liked the Extreme Noise Terror version of "3am Eternal".More eclectic selections from the 90s:

I absolutely LOVED this song. At Good Will a few weeks ago, I found the CD single and HAD to buy it. My wife rolled her eyes but I stand by my decision. It was interesting to finally hear the original version as I had it on an old VHS tape recorded from all places the one time that The Nashville Network played it. I also really liked the KLF's "3AM Eternal".
Between this and the 80s music thread a few weeks back, life has been good. This thread has been very therapeutic today. I had the worst day at work yesterday and took the day off to relax and revisiting some of these songs has been awesome.
For some reason, I still love that song. It's stood the test of time better than bloody "My Heart Will Go On..." - now THAT was a song considerably more painful than tearing you own heart out with a spoon...It was number one for the entire 520 weeks of the decade I believe
Bryan Adams- Everything I Do (I Do It For You)
All I know is that it was one week longer than "Love Is All Around" and a few weeks longer than that Whitney Houston one (which I believe was actually Christmas #1...Well, it MAY have been closer to 17 weeks than it was to 520...
I love it too, I even prefer the album version with the extra 2 and a half minutes on the endFor some reason, I still love that song. They used to play the full version on Radio 2 back in the day. It was a nice surprise.I love it too, I even prefer the album version with the extra 2 and a half minutes on the endFor some reason, I still love that song. So over a week when it was not number one then?It was number one for the entire 520 weeks of the decade I believe

I'm not so sure about this. Not whether or not they'll be around, but whether or not they might have some numbers added to their ranks from our time period. Composers like Bernie Taupin, Freddie Mercury, Diane Warren, and Prince.Classical music, in fact, makes your entire self-appointed connoisseur-of-music position completely moot. Because the music you no doubt like will be just as forgotten 100 years from now as will be Black Hole Sun.
It will be as if they never happened.
But I promise you....Mozart and Beethoven and Chopin and Brahms will still be around.
You probably know this already, but Mr. Spock, Dr. McCoy, and Nomad are all in "Pure Energy" by Information Society. I think that was from '89, though.I always wondered if the sample used in that song was Mr. Spock himself...
