I so can't wait til I get to the episodes where he hooks up with Charlie. So far I'm only up to Arrangements for War, and squalled like a baby.

Don't you mean Ten and Sa lly Sparrow? Nine never met her.
That's the whole point. Big Finish has a tendency of teaming up Doctors with different companions (most notably The Sixth Doctor).

If they do travel together, it would have to be after she met 10. Otherwise, her confusion in the episode would be hard to explain.

Does 9 really have a large enough gap in his timeline to have another companion? Even leaving aside the debate over how quickly he had regenerated before the start of "Rose," it just doesn't seem to fit what we've seen that he had a different companion.

I was hoping, in the last scene of "Rose," that Nine would've gone off and had some Missing Adventures in between that minute when he left Rose standing there and when he popped back and said "Did I mention it travels in time?"

Thats pretty much the main gap, and the difficulty is that pre-Rose the Doctor is probably in a very different place.

I suppose he could have dropped Rose off somewhere for a day or so (from her perspective) and gone wandering off for months (from his perspective) but there's little onscreen evidence of them ever being apart.

Let's face it, Rose would probably cry if the Doctor tried to drop her off anywhere. Talk about clingy girlfriends...

I gave it Average.. it got that high because there were a lot of good lines. It was so silly though I couldn't rate it higher. Amy Pond seemed quite out of character at times. It had a real after school special feel about it.

I'm about the same place on the Evelyn run (one or two stories further along). I'm going to hold off on the Sixth/Charley stories until I've finished the Eighth/Charley run (I'm almost done with the Divergent Universe).

I'm sorry, I don't mean to be disrespectful but I honestly don't get giving an episode a low rating just because its silly. Its not as if this is the first ever comedic episode of Doctor Who. Did anyone rate The Eleventh Hour low just because of fish fingers and custard?

Why? As we saw in "Rose" this specific incarnation of the Doctor had many adventures without her. He was on the Titanic, he was there at the murder of JFK, etc., and she was not with him.

When (for him) those adventures took place, we can only speculate. If the theory that he had regenerated very shortly before he turned up to save her in that episode, then there is only one gap that can fit - after he left her with Ricky. The Tardis took off. Then, to Rose's perspective, he came right back and asked if he mentioned it was a time machine. He could have been gone for a hundred years before deciding to come back and get her.

Perhaps he ran into a future version of himself with Rose (or saw them and hid, watching), so he knew he had to take her along?

I thought this one had moments of "silliness" but I didn't take it as such. I don't understand the mentality of people who rate things based comedy vs drama.

Here's my problem with that theory: that's a pretty specific point for the Doctor to be able to make it back to after having a series of adventures. Especially considering a few weeks later he has so much trouble making to within twelve hours of that moment.

Me, I just go with what the Night shorts on the S6 DVDs suggested, that the Doctor continues to have adventures while his companions are sleeping.

^Being a year out can be explained by the TARDIS taking him to where/when he was needed rather than going where he wanted to go.

If the 9th had just regenerated why was he not dressed as 8. And why no post regeneration illness?
Just because he looks in a mirror and makes a comment about his appearance, does not prove he just regenerated, I do it nearly every day.

Maybe he changed his clothes before leaving the Tardis. As you say, its something I do every day before leaving the house.

Well we don't know if had just regenerated. But the impression from "Rose" seems to be that it is not long after his regeneration. So perhaps he went to the wardrobe room and changed clothes.

That had drama and story.

Hey I enjoyed myself, I just can't crank it above average.

Rose was soon after his regeneration, soon enough that he hadn't had chance to check a mirror or his reflection yet, as his first comments about his ears were on seeing his reflection in Rose's mirror at her flat...

...And, "Not Long since his Regeneration", could easily have been a month. He could've regenerated, gone through his Post-Regen Crisis, and then gotten caught up in an adventure, and before you know it, a month has gone by, he's fully recovered from his Regeneration, and finally at Rose's flat he gets a chance to check out his new appaearance.
