Just thinking. Would Voyager have worked better had the journey taken the full 70 years, with each series taking place several years after the previous one?
Over those years we could see significant crew changes, as characters like Naomi and Icheb grow up and take up roles on the ship. And other characters grow old or pass away.
I imagine Captain Old Man Tuvok entering the retired Janeways quarters at the end of the journey to deliver the news that theyve entered orbit of Earth to find shes died of old age...
Oh - and i'm fully aware the producers would never have let it happen in the real world.
