That was... OK. Wasn't crazy about it but it wasn't awful either. Predictable and a bit bland. I hope part 2 picks up.

I really quite liked that (which is lucky, because another infraction would probably mean I can't post again until I'm the Doctor).
*scratches head*
You can get an infraction for not liking a Doctor Who episode? Whaaaa....
Not so long as you keep it to yourself.

I'll say no more on the issue :borg:

Of course, it's question obvious, but how did the Flesh copy clothes? I know it's fully-programable matter, but all the Doctor did was touch it with his hand.

I'm almost certain there's a section on TV Tropes for this exact thing. When clones are involved, it nearly always happens.

Same problem with Jenny in The Doctor's Daughter emerging fully-clothed, too. It's almost like they don't want all these naked actors running around.

Because it was before the water shed;) or it uses the persons memory to make clothes:confused:

Oh look, a spare Doctor.

I wonder if that'll come in handy anytime in the future? Say, Octoberish?

The same way Odo made clothes, I guess.

It is a stretch, and something you just have to chock up to the show not being able to portray naked bodies, even if all the naughty, shameful, sinful bits are covered up.

A throwaway line saying it can replicate a jacket or jumper would have been nice, but we can just assume our way past this minor but still nagging detail.

It was certainly a very Trad story as far as the Original Series history of ripping of elements wholesale from other works of fiction goes.

I wonder what John Carpenter and James Cameron would make of it?

Pretty much feels like one big setup for a way to explain impossible astronaut

Which is fine, but at least be fun while doing it.
that seems to be a very easy way out of it, I guess its possible, but it would be very easy.

Moving on to the episode itself, Amy feels a bit like a spare part, with Rory getting some really good screentime for a change.

All that said considering some of the known names in the guest cast I was a little under whelmed by the whole episode, this series feels like Moffatt has paid alot of attention to the Arc, but not enough to the invidual episodes.

There was actually a line when the cloning was explained that said "even clothes" so even though prob never be explained how at least it was acknowledged.

I thought it was interesting that Amy seems to have experienced a little of the insecurity that Rory has had in the past.

I was pretty sure there was a throwaway line about the flesh duplicating clothes, in the beginning when they first examined it.

I felt this did have a 'trad Who' feel - even to the point of being a bit slow and predictable in places. If this is the get-out for the killing in ep one, I shall be seriously disappointed.

The Gangers are effectively the ultimate in identity theft - I can imagine some people reacting very negatively to them, causing an equally hostile reaction.
