This one was particularly good. Rory's big line really cracked me up. You know which one I'm talking about.

At this point I'm still reeling from the big revelation. I don't know yet how I feel about
the fact that I haven't seen this episode at all and am only posting like I have to mess with your heads out of some desperate pyschosis brought on by waiting for new Who.

I'm quite optimistic about this one. Fear Her was rubbish of course (not even new Who fans seem to rate it), but the brief it had made it seem unlikely to be any good anyway. Graham's a seasoned writer (he did Life on Mars, doncha know), and what I've heard about the story sounds promising.

Of course, I was saying the same thing about Victory of the Daleks, but...

Oh, I rather liked it. It didn't even occur to me to consider it "bad" until I started reading the forums and everyone was talking about it being terrible.

Yep, reasons to be optimistic.

And let's all remember it's only part 1 of 2... please.

Just finished watching it, and I have to say, that was utter brilliance!

Took a while to get into it, the first 10 minutes, I was really just too confused to make a judgement, but as it picked up speed, it really came into its own.

Loved the 'fighting against yourself' angle, and this is the first episode of series 6 where I'm really connecting with the extras, which is always good.

Pretty much feels like one big setup for a way to explain impossible astronaut

Which is fine, but at least be fun while doing it.

I really quite liked that (which is lucky, because another infraction would probably mean I can't post again until I'm the Doctor). Had quite a classic Who feel, and Smudger's recent bout of twattery has been toned down to almost zero - back to being as good as in the last series, in fact. If I've any criticism, it's perhaps that it was a bit slow getting where it was going. Of course, it's a two-parter so it could all come crashing down, but so far I'm quite positive.

That was great - a proper solid DW episode that didn't rush things or have unnecessarily silly bits. Nice direction, good guest stars (Sarah Smart doing better than Marshall Lancaster, who's giving *exactly* the same performance as he did as Chris Skelton. Matt Smith seems a bit muted this week.

The acid suits with staves kind of remind me more of the Vanir in Terminus than the Sontarans, when seen in context. I like that it's about the battle for identity, rather than conquest or something.

Matt Graham has delivered a nice solid SF script (with a proper sciencey "what if" concept) albeit somewhat reminiscent of Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep/Blade Runner - not as biting and funny as LoM/A2A but way above Bonekickers or Fear Her...

Saw that cliffhanger coming light years off though.

Will Matt Smith fall victim to McIntee's First Law of Acting? I guess we'll find out next week... And, oddly, I *don't* think the ganger Doc will be anything to do with the one who died at the beginning of the season. I think it's a red herring, and that'll be resolved in some timey-wimey fashion...

I gave it middle marks. In my opinion it's a bona fide traditional adventure and enjoyable enough, let down by some dubious acting (eg Jennifer) and an ending that could be seen miles away. Excellent special effects at the start, Ganger effects not great.

Booooring! Turned it off half way through, I must say Dr Who is pretty crappy isn't it!

I can only echo the sentiments of Bones and Lonemagpie. I was also happy to recognise the locations used (I live in Caerphilly where the main castle and travel past Cardiff Castle every day). No idea where this is going, but surely a get-out for The Impossible Astronaut is too obvious?

Looking forward to the conclusion.

Oh, and I loved the cast. Sarah Smart, Marshall Lancaster AND Raquel Cassidy? Awesome. And was that the evil guy from Psychoville too?
