How dost thou rate the Doctor's adventure?

It sounded like Amy was telling Rory that she loved him...but then it really was the Doctor...? I didn't catch that (my son was making noise)...

Pretty much. She said something about how her life had changed since he fell out of the sky.

And Rory is capable of incredible control. He kept focused on saving Amy and not immediately assuming she was talking about the Doctor through that transponder.

:wtf:

Does this have something to do with the Time-Crack and rebooting the Universe?

Yes. The Silence were (supposedly) the ones who blew up the TARDIS.

Is there like no one else watching the BBCA broacast? I feel like I'm talking to myself.

I couldn't wait 5 hours so... uh... I found another way (though I am watching it again now).
So did the Silence actually originate on Earth, or did they come here at the dawn of time, before the human race began?
Unknown, probably not native though. They have been here for a long time. Makes me wonder if they also influenced the Silruians.

Thanks SG for the above thoughts. I realize that we're not going to get all the answers tonight, but this outing sure opened up a fresh can of worms. It'll be interesting to see if Moffat attempts to tie the Silence into any events from the Classic Series, or even some from the first couple seasons of nuWho.

Holy cow! Warning Series 6 ep. 2 Spoilers!

who the heck was that child??

Amy and the doctor's child? did the silents manipulate them? was the dream lord a part of that manipulation? were the silents involved, was the child amy and the doctor's, rivers? a future clone? jenny? is the child river? what the heck?

there was a moment in the lodger when amy looks up and sees something incredible, and then all of a sudden she is back to normal, did they inhabit the tardis then?

I'm in all out conjecture mode now..this makes no sense, the suspense is killing me..

moffat is king!

Wow. I sure as shit didn't see that coming (the ending). I have absolutely NO idea where that's going to lead to.

Now what I want to know.... this child seems to be regenerating, implying she's a Timelord ..... but who? Amy's child? River? THe Doctor's child? The Doctor himself?

I...just don't know. I gave this episode the highest grade, but so much of it is dependent on things to come. It's a wonderful setup for the rest of the season, that's for sure.

I was quite surprised that the Doctor was willing to do that to the Silence. I guess this Doctor is much more willing to do his own dirty work rather than "manipulate" his companions into it. I wonder if that's why Eleven is so in tune with River Song.

Nice to see Rory without Amy for a large part of the action, though I truly hope this is th end of the whole Rory/Doctor jealousy thing.

I loved Canton Delaware, and I really hope we find an excuse to see him again. Especially as a companion. And I just knew he was gay after that comment last week about wanting to get married. (Does this mean there's hope for Mark Sheppard? :D But I digress...)

The girl is...interesting. Is she really Amy's daughter? I saw some interesting theories that the Silence used their proto-TARDIS to take her back in time, where she had her daughter, and then made her forget, which is why she's no longer pregnant in the current time and that's what's confusing the TARDIS scanner. I no longer think she's River, though, if she's the one who definitely kills the Doctor and steals his regeneration energy.

As for River, I don't think she's really meeting the Doctor in reverse like she thinks she is, or she's going to have a long run where she meets the future Doctors again before the whole Pandorica thing. Out of order, yes. Reverse? Not so much.

Re: Holy cow! Warning Series 6 ep. 2 Spoilers!

The Doctor's Daughter I think.

With Amy perhaps?

ahh... but river said she felt sick too, and just because amy was in the picture with the baby doesn't mean it was hers.. she could have placed her head close to the baby being held by river and that pic was snapped.. it's an open end..

sooooo coool!!

That was a good episode but I'm a little pissed that so little was explained. I guess I'm used to the RTD era of mostly self contained two parters. I feel like so very little was resolved from the opening ten minutes of the season. We still don't know who the girl is. We still don't know why the Silence had her. We still don't know why she killed the Doctor. We still don't know how the Doctor survives. We still don't know why he sent the Companions back to witness his death. We still don't know why the damaged Silence Tardis was in the "The Lodger". We still don't know how/why the Silence detonated the Tardis in the season finale...

I also thought it was funny that the Doctor didn't attempt to make a sweep of the Tardis to make sure there weren't any Silence on board. Seems important to me.

That makes sense.

But River has been on screen since last week, it doesn't make sense...

I voted "COOL!" I liked this ep a lot, despite having probably a gazillion questions that I hope will be answered further into the season.

It seems that Moffat is making the show more arc-focus now, and I am okay with that. It feels like the later seasons of Stargate SG-1 now. There is a big overall arc that some of the episodes focus on, others have hints to, and others seem completely unrelated. Aka the 'Planet of the Week' sort of thing.
