The hurt doctor does unspeakable acts. Without thinking of the consequences he unleashes "The moment"

It ends the war and somehow the hurt doctor is turned back to Mcgann

The 8th doctor still holds memories of the hurt doctor

Events happened and didn't happen at the same time

Badly wounded the returned 8th doctor regenerates properly into Ecchelston.

Its interesting how Clara is the first to speak and say thats not possible. So are we to infer that now she now everything about the doctor due to her trip in the Doctors time stream. Kinda reminds me of the DoctorDonna and that she would know and be familiar with what the Doctor knows.
