... Anyone else feel as though we BBSers just might be on the wrong team here?Common TrekBBS obsession: trucks that turn into robots that punch other robots.
50 Shades' readers' obsession: super-rich, smokin' hot people having lots and lots of mind-blowing sex.

EL James' erotic novel, Fifty Shades of Grey, began as a self-published e-book but has gone on to top the bestseller lists.
The story about billionaire businessman Christian Grey's romance with literature student, Anastasia Steele, became the first book to sell more than one million copies on Amazon's Kindle e-reading device and the fastest adult paperback novel to sell one million print copies.
BBC News joined the Camden Girls Book Group at their regular meeting at Drink Shop & Do in London to get their take on the book:

This is the first time I've heard of this. Apparently these books, starting with 50 Shades of Grey, have become the next book phenomenon and holds the title of fastest-selling novel beating Harry Potter and Twilight. They are now even going to be turned into movies.
I can understand Harry Potter and Twilight getting popular. One has a boy learning he is a wizard and going to a magic school, while the other has a vampire and a teenage girl falling in love with each other.
But this? I glanced at the plot of the first book it looks like it is just romance with a bunch of BDSM sex. Amusingly this series started out as Twilight fan fiction.
How did these books get so huge? Has anyone here read them or seen others reading these books?
^ Wait... so '50 Shades' is actually... 'My Immortal'?????
