3D interiors in Blender

I like those beds. As for the center, some sort of storage behind and to the sides of the nurse station, under the window, might work well. Or as they said above carts or things like that.

Or they could just beam them?

The vagaries of intraship beaming would require that all beds, cots, gurneys, operating tables, etc. be transporter pads. And after performing surgery on someone, it's usually a bad idea to curl them up into a ball for transport (of any kind). You know, so they'll fit the pad.

There are multiple instances of "beam them directly to sickbay/the bridge/etc" as well as people being beamed onto various locations on ships without the need for a transporter pad either on the sending or receiving end (such as in "Face of the Enemy" when the Romulan dissidents are beamed from a cargo bay of a Warbird directly onto the bridge of the E-D, or "The Homecoming" when Li Nalas, Bashir and a nurse is beamed from just outside the runabout pad to the infirmary).

IIRC, intraship beaming wasn't a thing until TNG, partly because of the limitations of the visual effects (something that started to change when Nick Meyer had Kirk and Saavik talking while beaming up from Regula). As far as people having to curl up in a ball, clearly the transporter pads are able to assemble you even if all of you doesn't fit into the circle of light on the pad: (Tasha and Yareena beaming up, TNG "Code of Honor" — materializing on the pad; fully materialized)

Since Sickbay would be a common designation for emergency beaming, maybe Sickbay is outfitted with some sort of transporter pattern enhancers to help inter-ship direct beaming.

That would make sense as an intermediate step between how beaming was portrayed on TOS vs. the TNG era. And in TMP they had that mini-transporter on the bridge where they could beam tools and stuff (though that was still from one pad to another; a far cry from being able to beam someone from A to B without them ever setting foot on the transporter pad).

I would think that there are medical conditions that would prohibit the use of transporters in some situations, especially situations where a patient is in critical condition. Furthermore, if the ship is damaged, sickbay may not have enough power to run the transporters. In my opinion, anti-grav units built into the beds with their own batteries or power supplies would make the most sense in emergencies.

Hello

2 days ago I came across this forum.
I am excited. Each of their bridges is a dream.
The lounge is the hammer. (I hope this comparison works in English.)
I have now installed Blender and will also try my way on a bridge. The induction will probably take a little, but if I am warm with the program, I will certainly have one or the other question.
Since my English is not really good, i use the Google Translator. I ask for your indulgence. ;-)

My own logic when designing this sickbay is indeed to leave enough space for stretchers or rolling beds to move back and forth for surgery. Probably anti-grav indeed, and though a bit anachronistic they'd guarantee functionality in the middle of a battle or other emergency, when transporters could be unreliable.

@Captn_Kreutza: Hi, I'm glad you like the work on this thread so much! Best of luck learning Blender, and feel free to message me if you have any questions with it, I know it can be a very daunting program when you're starting. :)

Had some more time to work on the Victory sickbay these past few days. I've done a brand new console for the nurse station, indeed 'C' shaped and perfectly aligned to the circumference of the room. Behind it, some standard sickbay carts. As suggested I moved the medical logo to the floor.

I've also finished the ceiling for the main ward, and added lights to the exam room. Plus some progress on the CMO office, with the divider and light fixtures now in place (had to increase the camera FoV for the office render, otherwise it's impossible to see anything, it's a really small space there).

@Rekkert, I think you made the doctor's personal office a bit too small. I'm not sure he can actually get in or out of the chair.

The ceiling is a tad creepy. I love it! :)

Edit: I really like the texturing on the floor too.

I like the ceiling and the new nurse station. I think the latter seems a bit more practical now that it's flatter. I'm inclined to agree with the people saying the office feels a bit cramped, mostly because of that divider.

lol, okey okey, I made the office bigger. :p

I've added more details on the walls as well, plus a new desk. Still unsure what I'll do with the chairs, I want to swap them but I'm still not sure with what models.

Also, I added a flag just to have something more visually interesting in that corner, though IDK if I'll keep it, it made sense IMO for the more militaristic Starfleet of this era. I might swap it for some sort of Starfleet Medical flag. Suggestions? :)
