3D interiors in Blender

@Scribble: Indeed, it's more brightly lit. As you might recall from the first renders, it was much darker before, like Ten Forward, but it simply didn't work for such a big space.
@Michael: Thanks! :D
@Jedman67: Yeah, Hollywood magic. :p
@Savage Dragon: Hahaha, my customer named it before we even started work on it!

Here are some renders of the finished lounge! (I'm not gonna use the spoiler tag here, simply to showcase the finished result ;) ).

And here's the cutaway! I went with a much simpler frame this time. All my previous little schematics next to the cutaway were always matching sizes to each other, and I couldn't do that here because the graphic would've been huge. Besides honestly I really started to hate the previous style I used, took too much time and effort to do, plus was fairly cluttered and inconsistent from one room to the next. I'd rather keep things clean and minimalist from now on.

The pit and the balcony go a long way toward making it look less like an Elks club dining hall and more like a nightclub. This looks like Studio 54, while the first version looked like we were going to celebrate someone's wedding anniversary.

Glad you all liked the finished lounge.

Been working on another commission this past week, and now it's advanced enough for me to show it:

This is the bridge of the Galaxy Class USS Challenger, as it looked after the Dominion War.
Essentially it's a first generation Galaxy that was refitted after the war, thus incorporating a lot of Sovereign style components. A lot of elements here are subject to change. All chairs will be modified or replaced altogether, the horseshoe might go away in favor of an Odyssey style console, and the 1st and 2nd officer chairs will be added later, once other elements of the design are done.

The LCARS likewise will be reworked, to incorporate the First Contact color scheme and the metal elements on the consoles, similar to what Voyager and Enterprise-E had.

Work's been exceptionally slow this past two weeks, as the futility of the attempts to reach any sort of agreement regarding Stage 9 left me feeling pretty tired and pointless. I don't want to fill this thread with Stage 9 discussion, there's another one for that; all I'll say is that while it's within CBS's right to stop us, and we all knew it could happen, the total lack of communication or even acknowledgement of what we've done leaves me unsure of continuing to producing fan art of any kind in this universe. The delivery of the message felt worse than the message itself, if that makes sense.

Still, I've got commissions to fulfill and bills to pay, so you'll still be seeing me for the time being, even if the future seems uncertain now.

The aft consoles are now in place on the Challenger bridge. These are standing up stations, like the ones on Voyager. It's hard to see without graphics on the screens, but the shape of these is different from the side stations, without the horizontal cutout in the middle where the red alert indicator is. The center area will indeed be filled by an MSD as on the Ent-E and Voyager.

That looks amazing!
But why have you chosen for one chair?

Looking great Tadeo! Ever think of designing a Late 24th centery bridge that incorperates stuff like glass screens, etc. ( Basically thinking, what the new "Picard show" might show us in a "redesigned/improved" bridge?)

I hear ya on CBS, Makes it hard to have fun and make stuff you like when there might be a big Sword of Damocles hanging over your head. Frustrating!.

@Screamble: Pretty much Ent-D and E, which used the consoles from the A because budget. :lol:

@batboy853: Indeed! Even more similar to Tourangeau's own Challenger bridge concept, though according to the person who commissioned this, he wasn't aware of those. Still, this already has a lot of unique aspects to it, and will have even more before it's finished!

@USS Firefly: That was just a temporary arrangement before my client decided on how to arrange the chairs there.

@valkyrie013: I had a few ideas, but usually I don't like that approach, makes things look way busier than they should IMO.

We decided on a layout for the command chairs, as well as a material. The design of the chairs themselves might stay the same, or it might change, we'll see once other elements are in place.

I've also finalized the floor layout, slightly modifying the area under the tactical console to fit in more nicely, and further detailing the steps. The light under them is yellow as it is on the light fixtures in the Challenger ready room. Similar fixtures will be applied though the bridge where the alert indicators used to be.

It looks great, but my favorite Galaxy class bridge remains the one in Generations

@cardinal biggles: I already tried both of those styles, but I was asked with trying different styles before committing to one specific one. The basic TNG consoles remain while I still have to model those other styles.

@USS Firefly: Mine as well! So much more functional than the regular TNG bridge.

Those light fixtures I alluded to in my last post are now in place, or at least a first version of them.
