Looked like he was making out with TJ in the promo. The big question is, who did Eli hook up with?
Look what happened the last time SGU stretched stuff out.Overall this was a very good episode. Too bad they couldnt stretch this out over a half a season or more. There are so many different ways they could go with this...
It can be pretty cool, but I don't want too much technobabble drama along the lines of "diverting power to the shields".Definately better than the average SGU. It sure is fun when they all take their stations on Destiny's bridge and start acting all Star Trek-like. That is so cool.
It would be interesting if Eli forwarded the recording to his mother eventhough it's an alternate life. He'd be fulfilling alternate-Eli's wish and mom would get to se a grandchild.Older Eli lamenting over his mother not being able to see the man he's become was actually a nice moment...
This was a silly but continually fun and audaciously far-out episode, even by stargate standards. I liked the multicultural look of the descendants.
Multi-cultural to some extent. But it appears they still can't find any people of African descent in Vancouver.
Great episode by the way. Now...I'm assuming Wray passed along her culture and her parent's native language but considering she is a lesbian, she wouldn't have had any descendents, right? And Volker would have died early on because of his eventual kidney problem (I'm assuming they wouldn't have had the equipment to even attempt a kidney transplant).
Either Wray has bisexual leanings, or since there were so few people, she "took one for the team". Or there's no relation, and she just passed on her culture.
And how many black people have we got on board Destiny? I'd expect race to be pretty watered down after 2000 years of breeding from only 100 or so initial people.
Yazuo looked more like an American Indian to me, then an Oriental Asian. Now, about the settlement itself, since the old guy was Asian named after Wray's father, I guess we're supposed to assume that Wray is his direct ancestor? Novos sure is quite the place, everyone reproduces, even the nerds and the homosexuals. TJ and Young give it another go, I guess things just didn't work out with Varro. And finally, good casting with those two Scott and Greer first met with. They actually look like they could be related to Scott and Chloe.

Personally, I think the episode would have been more interesting if it were about Destiny discovering Novos. Then we could actually see the kind of society they built, and it would be fun seeng the crew visit the Land of Young and Rusha. Sorry, Futura and whatever the hell the Ancient word for "Land of Young" is.
The show runners said that they had a few more seasons planned that could be cut down to one if necessary. To a number of people, this meant a lot of filler to pad things out. Well, this episode demonstrates that filler, or rather, side issues that have little to do with the main arc can be done well.
It was fun, intriguing, and anything but boring. Looking forward to seeing the resolution(?) next week!
