Sorry, but four Bads for these episodes.

I feel like we're just going over the same old ground again. After the last seven times this kind of crap has gone down, why would people still be questioning Jack ?

We've got the usual interpersonal relationships between glorified IT workers storyline which was boring the last ten million times they did it. These side stories do nothing to make the show more interesting and I wish they'd stop.

Plus I continue to believe that nobody involved in the running of this show has ever worked in an ordinary office before. CTU might be a Federal agency but everyone is wound so tight it's a wonder half of them aren't on medication for stress.

Can't we have someone running CTU who actually listens to his subordinates before making a decision ? So many of the people running that organisation have proven to be an obstacle to resolving the day's events.

Maybe we've only seen the seven days where Jack is right. Maybe the other days of the last 15 years he's always wrong?

;)

Nah... I don't buy that either.

The world of 24 seems a lot like what London apparently is like now. Cameras everywhere.

Hell, if the real world went through what the 24 world has gone through, I don't think 24's world would be any exaggeration. If anything it'd be an understatement in densely populated urban areas.

As for the four episodes: Bad, Bad, Average, Good. This is odd considering 24 usually starts off very strong, drops off in the middle, and then picks back up towards the end. As others have noted, Jack and Renee have been the only good things about this season so far.

--Chloe's disintegrated into a cartoon character version of herself. Her asperger's syndrome makes someone like Greg House look like a normal human being.
--Fucking worthless would be a compliment for Agent Starbuck and her trailer trash boyfriend.
--Hastings seems like a pencil-pushing accountant who somehow got promoted to head of CTU because everyone else was dead.
--Ortiz is wooden but passable.
--The President of Generica and his Indian lesbian looking brother's hair are too ridiculous to take seriously.
--President I Can't Even Remember Her Name has been nothing but background noise.

Not a good start to the season.

Hey, in the world of 24, a nuke going off in LA isn't even a big deal because you can go shopping a few hours later.

If you can't go shopping, the terrorists have won.

:guffaw:

House after meeting Chloe: Damn, what's that bitch's problem?!

--The President of Generica and his Indian lesbian looking brother's hair are too ridiculous to take seriously.

It's terrible, but this made me laugh too.

I openly admit to ripping off the "Indian lesbian" comment from Chuck, but I swear that's what pops into my head every time Farhad appears on the screen. I can see Omar becoming a decent character assuming he doesn't make some stupid swerve during his series run, but Farhad? Not a chance.

I know they're "in the future" storywise but the tech they used seemed so "today"

Facial recognition software capable of tracking a specified face through who knows how much video, given only a few minutes of processing time? Future. No question.

Season 1 thru 6, there were different branchs of CTU thru out the country, Jack worked with the LA branch. Chloe is the only one left who has worked with Jack since the beginning.

For some reason, people keep forgetting that Chloe didn't show up until Day 3!

Why is it always the bitter old white cop who is an ass?

That's totally Herc! The Wire crossover! (Guess he took a second run at the whole police thing....)

Agent Pierce is the only one who has been around since the beginning (the first season), and Kim is the only one who has been around since the very first episode (though she wasn't in seasons 4 or 6). Besides Jack.

I think...

To anyone who's trying to watch this online: Fox's player was being a bit jerky for me, but Hulu's was a lot smoother. Just FYI.

Tony too.

And Mandy is still alive even though she hasn't been seen since season 4.

True, but he's in jail now. I doubt Mandy's coming back (she only had a cameo in season two, and a small role in three episodes of season four--her cameo in season five was switched to another character).

He was in seasons 1-2 and 4-5. I don't think he'll be back, though he was always one of my favorite supporting characters.

Found this Halloween picture of Agent Red. Apparently George Takei decided to dress up as himself:

Agent Freckles looks better this season, I have to say. Doesn't make up for the writers allowing her and Tony to render Jack largely redundant towards the end of the last season.

Interesting, since there's a very loud countercomplaint that the whole series revolves around Jack and it should be an ensemble. Show can't win.

One of Annie Wershing's (Agent Renee) first roles was on an episode of ST:ENT.

I recall in one of the early seasons' DVD features director Jon Cassar said that all of the technology shown exists, it just doesn't at the time do things as fast or as well as shown. Like you can reposition a satellite, but not in seconds. I read one "recap" of a S2 episode where the recapper was all bent out of shape because Jack had a device that showed him where the nearest urgent care clinic was and how to get there. Now GPS is practically standard on all new cars. I love that futuristic, almost sci-fi vibe. I'm interested to see what kind of technology they pull out for this season.
