2023 book releases

IDW hit a big bump in the road due to Locke & Key and Wynnona Earp coming to an end with nothing to replace them as a screen adaptation (which is where the big bux are). They also lost the Transformers license. These were body-blows to the company, and so they're reorganizing.

They're not going out of business yet, and they still have several licenses (including Trek), but they're seriously retrenching....

I hope they can.

They recently announced a fantasy series The Hunger and The Dusk by G Willow Wilson that sounds interesting.

Saw this gem on Twitter today!

"Day of Blood," Chapter Four. Thousands of years ago, Kahless the Unforgettable led his people to glory and raised an empire of honor. But his clone, Kahless II, has gone too far, murdering innocents in cold blood and hungering for power that can no longer be sated by Qo'noS and the Klingon people. He now stands alongside Alexander in front of Worf and Sisko, pitting father and son against each other and making a mockery of the Bajoran Prophets and their emissary. Meanwhile, the power of the Orb of Destruction surges from his ship above. Can Kahless be stopped, or will he once again prove to be the greatest warrior of them all? Find out in the penultimate chapter of the crossover between Star Trek and Star Trek: Defiant!

Anyone know why all the UK retailers have the print copy of the new Discovery novel as July 6th? E.g.
https://forbiddenplanet.com/catalog/?q=Star Trek discovery somewhere &page=1
The ebook is still May 30th but I find it more relaxing to read novels in print version.

This kind of delay isn't uncommon in the publishing industry when books are produced for North America as the primary market - like my last Splinter Cell novel Dragonfire, that was released at the end of January in the US, but didn't arrive in the UK until March.
But sometimes stuff slips through earlier, unofficially. Forbidden Planet sells stuff early quite frequently.

Are Scholastic book fairs still a thing? Damn, that sure takes me back...

I got my first two Trek books at one of those in first grade -- The Making of Star Trek and that book of punch-out cardboard toys. (Or at least two of my first three -- I'm not sure of the timing.)

...and not strictly a book, but hopefully we might get some sign of the audiobook of A Stitch in Time this year? WIshful thinking perhaps, but it's all I've got right now. :)
