A new unofficial book about unmade trek projects, for September 2023:

    https://www.polarispublishing.com/book/lost-federations
    https://www.bookdepository.com/es/L...59117?ref=grid-view&qid=1680268863336&sr=1-14

Lost Federations : The (Unofficial) Unmade History of Star Trek
    By A. J. Black
    Polaris Publishing Limited

Lost Federations traces the story of unmade projects across the Star Trek franchise from the 1960s to the present day, examining why they never happened. The production of Star Trek was never an easy road, from the cancellation of the original, iconic 1960’s series, through failed revival attempts, and a 1980s-1990s heyday. But the franchise suffered a slow decline before 2009’s big-screen revival, Star Trek, staring Chris Pine.

Lost Federations maps the story of the unmade Star Trek adventures alongside the successes and failures of the Star Trek series and movies that do exist, and considers how these unmade projects might have influenced not just the Star Trek franchise, but wider production trends within film and television – making a case for how much of our popular culture and entertainment has been driven by Star Trek’s almost 60-year vision, and how differently that story might have evolved.

Not an official publication, but the preorder page is up for STAR TREK: ESSAYS EXPLORING THE FINAL FRONTIER, one of two Vernon Press academic works I have papers in this fall. Una McCormack wrote the introduction, and I have an essay on Trek media tie-ins which includes material from my discussions with David Mack and Greg Cox. The essay has a companion in my other piece in an upcoming edition from the same editors on Star Wars.

These scholarly texts aren't cheap, but I am told there'll be e-book editions.

Thank you for collating the info and covers. It's going to be exciting to see a Lower Decks character in a different visual style, and in a crossover.

Well, we already know we're going to see live action versions of Mariner and Boimler on SNW, likely before that comic is released.

The DS9 arc of the comic begins tomorrow, so we'll probably see Shax in the comic before live Action Boims

Those “Library Collection” trades are a good idea in theory, but they’re too small to collect everything in a reasonable amount of time. It looks like they only combine two normal trades. I foresee cancellation. Something like a Marvel epic collection would be better.

I ran a quick search and it didn't look like anyone's been discussing this yet in this forum. Technically not a Star Trek release, though I imagine some Trek fans might be interested in it all the same, and it certainly has a Trek-related title.

This October, Patrick Stewart has a memoir being released titled Making It So. Details from Canadian Amazon.
