2022 book releases

That link outright says that it is only what we know. As in, these are all that have been announced. Which, as has been hammered repeatedly in this thread, AT THIS POINT, Second Self is the only announced novel.

I didn’t know the fiction from Star Trek Explorer was going to be released as a collection. It’s the only reason I subscribed to the magazine.

The Volume One collection is for old Star Trek Magazine stories related to Star Trek Online (published between 2012 & 2016), we are hoping that the following volume will collect the first year of Explorer fiction, but I don't think it has been confirmed yet.

(And I do hope they announce a digital version somewhen)

Well now that you point that out I see that it’s written in massive letters on the front cover

Jesus. I'm going blind.

Maybe from all those ST novels ;-)

Well, at least I'm enthusiastic about them :-)

I wonder how many Star Trek novels we can realistically expect at this point. It's starting to look like 6 may be overly optimistic. At the very least between now and June we'll only have one new Star Trek novel, the upcoming Picard novel. According to Memory Alpha there is a 2nd untitled Picard novel in the works as well (take that with a grain of salt I suppose). But other than that nada for new novels.

I'm starting to think 2022 may be much like the 2018 book exile.

It's nearly unimaginable to me that we won't -- at least -- get a SNW book and, likely, a DIS as well, as well as a at least a TOS title. But who knows.

Especially with Strange New Worlds starting, I wouldn't be surprised if they're planning a tie-in prequel like they have with Disco and Picard.
Hopefully one not filled with the sort of bleak hopelessness that makes the Kobayashi Maru scenario seem like the epitome of cheerfulness.

Wondering what they will include:

STAR TREK THE NEXT GENERATION BEST OF CAPTAIN PICARD
(W) VARIOUS (A) Various (CA) Louis De Martinis
Revisit some of the best adventures of Captain Picard in this extra-long collection! Featuring stories from across multiple Star Trek comic publishers, this issue is perfect for any fan wanting to learn more about the celebrated Starfleet officer.

In Shops: Jan 26, 2022

If anyone was wondering, it contains:
  • (IDW) The Q Conflict #1
  • (IDW) TNG: Mirror Broken #1
  • (IDW) Picard: Countdown #1
  • (DC) TNG vol. 2 #1
More of a sampler than a Best Of.

Yeah, that seems like a bad choice for a “Picard” Collection. Aside from the Countdown tie-in, I wouldn’t even say any of those are PICARD stories.

Like, when I think of Picard comics, the first to come to mind is the DC Annual written by John de Lancie, “The Gift.” Which, come to think of it, has that same idea of “the road not taken” that Picard season two is going for...
