2020 X Box Series X Vs. Playstation 5 thread.

Thanks, I didn't realize you could grab anything off the shelf. I assume it just means it has to be formatted by the PS4.
Yep, the only difference between the Seagate Expansion Portable and the Seagate Game Drive is the case and a couple of €/$...
I've used the Seagate Expansion Portable hooked up to my PS4 without a problem and as the Digital Foundry video shows, it's a little faster than the stock internal HD of the PS4...

PS5 Dev Kit was on eBay for a few hours...

I managed out of sheer luck to grab a PS5 a few weeks ago from my local argos, and i have been very impressed with the machine, you are getting a lot of power for that price considering a mid range pc gpu will cost you about the same money these days, and that i got 200 quid trade in for my GOW ltd Pro made the PS5 even better value meaning in real money i only had to cough up 250 quid, a total bargain........and 14 years ago i paid 430 quid for a 20 gig PS3, so the tech you are getting today for around the same price is amazing.

Congratulations but over here it's still a bit of a lottery if you get a console at a brick and mortar store..... They have the digital versions of both consoles but not the disk based versions.

I hope Sony make a smaller version of that ugly looking turd

^^Oh it was pure luck, was on the site looking for a USB cable and up poped the PS5 instock banner, they were out of stock about 1 hours later, why can't i be in the right place at the right time when putting a lottery on. lol

I got one at Argos as well. They are the best to get one at since you can get one and it arrives on the same day. Others I’ve bought for family members can take a week to arrive

My PS5 disk version should be here tomorrow afternoon. My daughter and son-in-law to be got it for me for my birthday.

Hey speaking of cables what kind of connector is the one with two kind of bumps with a dip in the middle, used for some portable hard drives?

As a update mine was returned to Argos when the disc drive stopped reading all games discs, got a full refund, lasted just over a month, not really botherd though because the thing is just too big and it kept sliding off that rubbish stand when vertical, so i am fine with waiting for a slim version at some point, plus i was only playing ps4 games on it.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of series x/s games, the PS5 has games coming out of it's ears. Infact the only one I can think of is medium - the others are one games optimised the Series X - bit of a let down really.

I have a Series X and S and have had a blast with both. Plenty of stuff to play with the GamePass subscription. Halo: Infinite and Forza Horizon 5 launch in the next two months.

Oh yeah theres plenty of stuff, it just all seems to previous gen upscaled. The PS5 has a load of stuff that you can't get outside the PS5, theres stuff coming like you said but its been out a year now. Have you checked out Flight SIm? Now theres a show of the power of the Series X.

So does the Xbox, and it’ll increase with its acquisition of various studios. Plus, with GamePass, I’m spending next to nothing for pretty much everything I play, including the games I mentioned above.

I still think the PS5 is a wicked piece of tech and I can’t wait to get mine later today. I’ve seen where internally The Tourist renders at 8K then down scales to 4K.

Even though I lean towards Xbox, I want good games the most.

Yep. There are quite a few games out there, first and third party, that show the power of the hardware.

I own both a PS5 and a Series X and I really like both consoles. I'm generally more of a Playstation fan, I've owned every single PS console (including the handhelds) except for the PS1. The only other XBox I've ever owned was the original XB One.

I still buy most multi-platform releases on the PS5. But I do really like Game Pass and I've played quite a few games for "free" over the last few months.

Anyway, I just wanted to add that I never really understood the whole "PS vs Xbox" thing... I just find it absolutely pointless.

My wife is playing Astro’s Playroom right now, having a lot of fun. I’m really impressed by the controller so far.

Oh man, I enjoyed Astro's Playroom so much. It's such a fun game. And I loved all the references to PS games and other console-related products.
