2020 titles announced

The Memory Alpha admins can be a lot worse than Captainmike if you get on their bad side, but it doesn't affect Memory Alpha's popularity. I think the real reason that Memory Beta is out of date is that most Star Trek fans don't care about the books, and of those that do, not many are interested in editing wikis.
That’s sad. At the very least you would think that the bibliographies on the author pages would be complete. Memory Alpha doesn’t have bibliographies under each author entry (although they do have links at the bottom to other bibliography sites).

I mean, I think it's both, don't you? Obviously I agree the audience base for novels is smaller; even if the percentage of novel fans who might be interested in editing a wiki is the same as for the TV shows, the smaller novel audience means the absolute numbers will be smaller. But I would argue that abusive admins can have a larger negative impact on a wiki if the potential editor base is smaller. If your pool of talent is smaller than MA's, then even if the same percentage of editors is alienated by abusive mods as at MA, the resulting surviving talent pool of editors will be even smaller and thus the wiki will suffer.

I was so disappointed in the last couple books I didn't even bother with the last e-book trilogy.

While we’re at it, how’s about a Star Trek: Picard: Captain Worf/Enterprise-E novel by Keith R.A. DeCandido? (Although they would probably want to wait to introduce at least some of Worf’s new crew on an episode of the tv series first, I guess.) :-)

Not necessarily.

I could see a Captain Worf novel picking up right after his promotion and retaining much of the relaunch cast. If Worf is still Captain by the time he appears on Picard, 20 years or so will have passed. So the show could introduce a whole new crew without being contradictory.

And a big role for the Klag and the Gorkon

Memory Beta recently introduced a new editing tool I can't work out. Whatever happened to simplicity!

I think I'm pretty much done with MB too, which is a pity because non-canon characters like Vaughn and Shar were great to write articles about.

I've just come back after a two-months hiatus and the website is really weird to edit now. But I'm in the process of figuring it out.
Checking over it's editing history, the most new content comes from ST games and comics. DS9Forever is the only one with a novel-only focus, IIRC. I tended to alternate between games and novels, but having visual reference makes it so much more enticing to lean into the games... But it's a little trickier nowadays, with the return to the 24th century, because canon takes precedence over non-canon on this Wiki.

Thank you!

I try to pitch in on MB when I can, but that usually involves me reading a book, going to its designated Wikia/Fandom pages, seeing if anything's inaccurate or missing, and then adding/correcting it - so expect to see some updates on Tuesday or Wednesday after I finish reading "To Lose the Earth" - but I haven't updated anything there since I reread Vanguard and Seekers back in June.

I wouldn't expect a Captain Worf on the Enterprise E novel unless and until they show up on the show.
