2018 Releases

I work at Wal-Mart, and I've seen quite a few kids walking through the store with books in their hands. All the new forms of media may have taken quite a bit of attention away from books, but there are still a lot of people, both adults and kids, out there reading.

It's not stifling debate to ask you not to use a medical diagnosis as shorthand for what you think is wrong with the world.

 

Although arguably, doing so is a statement that the too-rushed-to-read state of our society is a disease of the society itself. One of many. But please note that diseases affecting entire societies are not the same thing as "social diseases."

 

Just a note--I edited my previous ADHD comment and deleted my later comment about it. I'm not very PC but I have no wish to offend anyone so I'll refrain from commenting further.

 

I just got “Fire With Fire” and on the page across from the title page it lists the 2 Prometheus books to come with “The Root Of All Rage” with a May 2018 release date and “In The Heart Of Chaos” given a November 2018 release date.

 

Ah, cool. I was wondering why so many people were saying Book 3 would be out next November, since it isn't up for pre-order yet.

 

Thanks for the Prometheus book news. It's nice to know when the other 2 books will be coming out in 2018.I'm looking forward to finally getting book one of this miniseries at long last.

 

When “The Root Of All Rage” was first announced, I was guessing at November for book 3, because we’ve got 6 months from 1 (November 2017) to book 2 (May 2018), so November 2018 is six months after May, so that just seemed logical.

 

Are there any known characters in the Prometheus cast? Thanks

Chell from Voyager is there but I don't recall him being important. Furthermore the EMH from Prometheus is still around.

 

The authors note mentions that events related to the “Prey” trilogy are referenced and vice versa (“Prey” also references these books).

So there will probably be cameos.

 

One cameo I didn’t expect was James T. Kirk right in the Prologue.

Captain Ro, Cheif O’brien, Nog, Quark, Akaar, Nechayev, & the Andorian Federation President also make appearances. The Cold War with the Typhon Pact also plays a significant part.[/spoilers]

 

Also there is a starfleet admiral called Rohde who is a reference to Cross Cult's editor Markus Rohde.

 

I didn't even know he had a boyfriend.

 

I haven't read Distant Shores, so that might be the reason

 

I hope we'll get some news from Pockets books soon. I really wonder what's taking them so long to release more 2018 book news.

 

Legal contracts can take a while, especially when new shareholders of the contract are introduced (as it seems to be) and the very scope of the contract seems to be in question.
