Going to the loo is alway a bad idea during a match. I went to the loo when Manu beat Bayern in the Champions League. And I went to the loo 2014. During that time the Germans scored at least two goals against Brazil..... And the worst idea is going to the loo in the 94th minute thinking it will be over soon......

How was it not a red card for the foul, it was a clear goal scoring chance (he was about to roll it into an empty net). Also Kasper was a little off his line ref for the save!

I still can't believe it. It was a clear foul. The penalty kick was justified. Croatia should have won the game. It's like the soccer gods want a penalty shootout. Neither side can score to save their lives. The sad part will be if Croatia loses on penalty kicks when they should have won the game on that last minute penalty kick.

It amazes me how much the keepers were diving early but the players didn't seem to notice. Look at the keeper during your run up lads.

To be fair, considering how incredibly nerve racking a penalty shootout is at the world cup level, I can forgive the players for being so focused on the kick that they forgot to watch the goalkeeper.

So... Both games decided by shoot-outs. Ugh. Awful way to win / lose a game.

Startled and disappointed by the Spain result. Particularly disappointed for Iniesta, but I suppose even extraordinary players don't get fairytale finishes. The handball decision for the Russian equaliser was absurd - unless the Spanish player could somehow make his arm dematerialise there was no way to avoid contact in that situation. Another rule that needs looking at, IMO.

I've seen a few reasons / excuses for the non-award of a red card in the other game. I'm not sure I believe them, but justice was served in the end. Just.

Croatia v Russia should be...err...interesting.
