2016 MLB Regular Season - It's an Even Year...

Wow, what a 3rd inning that was for the Mets. :techman:

Care to provide some context for those of us who weren't watching?

Only in Baseball do players get vilified for taking PEDs when at the same time fans were absolutely loving the Mcguire/Sosa HR race. Talk about hypocritical.

Olney's always been a tool and his only real sources in baseball are with the Yankees (who often use him as a mouthpiece to plant stories), but this one was just asinine. Seriously suggesting that the MLBPA should offer to allow teams to void contracts, and framing that idea with a story of "boo hoo, I thought Gordon was one of the good ones," is so utterly moronic to the point of being insulting to the reader. C'mon, Buster. The union's job is to represent the players' interests, which pretty decidedly do not include giving teams a mechanism by which to void their entire contract.

Edit: I mean, Jesus. You think some team under an albatross of a contract wouldn't have the team chef slip some Winstrol or whatever into some guy's morning smoothie if they knew they could void that deal upon a positive test? Shit, the Red Sox would be spiking Sandoval's Gatorade with stuff yesterday if that were the case.

No reason they wouldn't be doing that now, 3 positive tests and so long.

They'd have better luck of getting Sandoval by spiking all the donuts.

Well, my Yankees are off to a good start...

Can't score runs.... pitching is erratic as hell.... you name it, the Yankees are doing it poorly.

Don't know if we can dig ourselves out of this hole... 6.5 games back already.... maybe they can turn it around.

The Cubs are the first to 20 wins (20-6) after a sweep in Pittsburgh. They're up to a +93 run differential, the next best is St. Louis with a +40 diff.

Lester had another ball-stuck-in-his-glove putout at first. Maybe he needs to tighten the laces on that thing?

Even when things go wrong, they're right.

Man, what the fuck happened to Matt Harvey? Dude seems broken in just the strangest way.

Having spent a week in Toronto, I can say without hesitation that the Jays really need a new song to do at the 7th inning stretch.

They should just do "Hooked on a Feeling" at THAT time, and not in the 8th.

Cubs beat the Nats again, one more game for the sweep and Jake Arrieta is pitching tomorrow.

Unless the world turns on it's side, the Cubs will be an .800 team after tomorrow.

So the Giants have three excellent pitchers and then two garbage pitchers stinking up the bottom of the rotation. You can't be a playoff team that way. Cueto was excellent today but the offense left a lot to be desired. Also for some reason the defense is kinda inconsistent. I wonder what they are going to do to somewhat fix this problem. I don't think Lincecum is the answer. In fact I hope Heston can have is form from last year because he deserves a slot in the rotation.

^ If you can make the playoffs, you can almost certainly win in the playoffs with 3 pitchers. With the off days, teams have gone with a 3 man rotation.
