2016 MLB Regular Season - It's an Even Year...

Well, we just had about sixteen straight hours of rain in Wisconsin and that system is barrelling straight towards Ohio ... I have to think there's a very real chance of a rainout tonight.

I'm shocked it hasn't made it there yet. Moving the start time up an hour may have done the trick.

Also, 2 hits and 2 RBI for Hoss.

Opting out doesn't necessarily means Cespedes wants to leave the Mets, he just wants a longer-term deal and more money. Pretty much anyone in his position would have done the same.

He's also cashing in on a free agent market that essentially consists of Edwin Encarnacion, Joey Bats, Mark Trumbo (Fucking  if an NL team tries to sign him) and then a whole bunch of broken-down guys like Rasmus, Desmond, Wieters and, I don't know, Neil Walker.

In 2 games, 3 for 7, 2 walks, 2 RBI for Schwarber.

I figure there's going to be temptation to put him in the field for the next 3 games beacause....Scwarber

Yeah, Maddon isn't exactly being quiet about wanting to have Schwarber out in left field, but that's going to be in the hands of the doctors.

According to reports, both Maddon and Schwarber made impassioned pleas to Epstein for Schwarber to get clearance to play the field, but Epstein sided with the medical staff.

Gee, a medical team that actually cares about a patient's health and recovery. You might want to look into that, Mets.

The Cubs had better start making sacrifices to every deity they can think of in the hopes that Kluber's rusty on short rest...

They got to Kershaw the second time, we can only hope they'll solve Kluber as well and that Miller won't appear.

They really have gotten a long way this preseason with a mostly inept offense, including the reappearance of 2014 Javy Baez.

They got to Kershaw with patience, which is why he had thrown 70 pitches by like halfway through the third inning in Game 6. Right now, the Cubs are seeing pitches in Winnetka and trying to golf them.

Alright. The Indians are gonna win tonight. Imagine the heartbreak for the Chicago folks if Cleveland clinch the championship at Wrigley tomorrow night.

It doesn't look like you'll have to imagine. The real surprise is we got this deep into the post-season with this offense.

John Mallee has to go for one. The Cubs need a hitting coach who can actually get the guys' attention so they don't fall right back into old habits when it gets a little tough.

Heyward needs to spend the next 5 straight months working with Manny (or someone) to get his swing figured out. Obviously the whole team is failing to hit right now, but Heyward has been an apocalyptic bust so far.

Heyward had a hand injury in spring training and a wrist injury in late April; I don't think either of them ever fully healed given how much he played.

His swing is so disjointed, I'd be surprised if it didn't make the writs feel worse.

That swing has been a huge topic for even the Cubs announcers, and let's face it, outside of the mini streak he had after sitting out the Colorado series, he's basically sucked.

He needs a mechanic....or a witch doctor.

Just saw a replay of a Cubs fan reaching out for a ball, before it was caught by the Cubs outfielder. I wonder if the fan realized he had a Bartman moment.

^ For the most part, even Cubs fans have long since let this Bartman crap die. It's the media who won't let him alone. That's why Bartman's still living off the grid - the media keeps bothering him for interviews.
