They mentioned the big leg kick is gone, which should help.
His K's are down and he was 3/4 + a walk today. We'll see how regularly he plays, Maddon will absolutely play to win from this point on, no matter how high he was on Baez in the spring.
I'd love to see Baez take the full time 2B job with solid offensive numbers.

Jake Arrieta only went 8 innings today, 4 hits, no runs. His ERA is down to 2.03.
Another 2-0 win, so he's the guy you want going the day after the offense wore itself out.

Dude is seriously on fire. I don't know what Bosio did to him but I love it. He'd be in serious Cy Young consideration if Greinke and Kershaw weren't dueling each other to be the best pitchers on the planet.
Edit: Seriously, Arrieta was a mediocre-to-bad pitcher in Baltimore and then exploded when he came to Chicago. Just another one of Andy MacPhail's great picks when he was running the Orioles and a great trade for Epstein / Hoyer, considering I think they only gave up fucking Clevenger to get him. (And now that MacPhail is back to running a major league team, everyone should get scared of the Phillies about a year and a half from now.)

The lolMets are making a comeback. Up four with three games vs the Nationals starting tonight. At least at worse we'll be up by 1 following this series. We're sputtering and the Nationals are on a roll.

Washington & Pittsburgh lose today, while the Cubs beat the Cardinals 9-0. Making up some ground.
Rosscup was *this* close to striking out 4 in the bottom of the 9th. C.J. Edwards pitched a scoreless inning.

That maybe the biggest win for the Mets. Harvey wasn't sharp, a huge error by Cespedes that allows 4 runs to score. Then the wildest inning I've ever seen, 6 walks and 10 batters in the 6th inning to tie the game. Then Nieuwenhuis hits a pinch hit home run to take the lead.

Cubs pull out an 8-5 win over the Cards.
I swear Hamel has lost the killer instinct completely. He gets to an 0-2 count fast, but picks and picks and picks and ends up throwing so many damn pitches.
He's having a really hard time finishing guys off.
Here's hoping they can give Lester some runs this afternoon, he's got a 1.69 ERA against the Cardinals, so he should be able to hold them down.
