2011 MLB Season Discussion

This just in: Selig threatens to suspend - the Dodgers. The hell?

McCourt is boned and he's finally being put on the skewer for using the team as his personal piggy bank after his bankruptcy ploy blew up in his face. The dude is a cock, and as much as I detest (he's baseball's Satan) Bud Selig, he's taking the right tactic here. McCourt needs to sell. He's insolvent, he's used team funds for personal expenses, and he bought the Dodgers on a complete sham of a purchase, so heavily leveraged that he can't even sneeze without a creditor asking why it happened. And he needs loans to make payroll.

Frank McCourt is a shitkicker, and the sooner the Dodgers are in the hands of someone who isn't an absolute tool, the better.

Frank Wren fired the Braves' hitting coach Larry Parrish (bag of suck) and has said that Derek Lowe is no longer starting pitcher material (duh).

I bet Fredi Gonzalez will get one more year to at least get into the playoffs and win a round before they fire him.

Tito is a officially gone, per statement from the Red Sox. This kinda sucks.

It really sucks. I'm a life long Yankee fan but I really like Francona; great manager and a really nice guy. Bad move letting him go. It's gonna leave a bad taste into 2012 similar to how it did for the Yankees into 2008.

I agree that it sucks to see Francona go, but it sounded like he was ready to move on anyway. I'm thankful for what he did for the Red Sox and I hope he finds success in his next venture.

Totally agree with you here. Selig has to protect "the brand" as it were, that's part of his job.

Wouldn't it be crazy if the Rays went on to win it all?
I could live with that, the little team that c
Yankees/Tigers got rain suspended. They'll do a double header with the game 2 starters picking up today's game, the day three starters picking up the nightcap and Verlander/CC picking up game 3. this can have a massive impact on this series since it pretty much guarantees CC and Verlander will only play once, instead of the two times as expected.

If I were them, I would put the game 3 starters (ie, the more unreliable ones) and have them finish off game one. That game is 2 innings down, why waste Nova and Fister on a 7 inning game?

^ I agree with the first part of it, but I'm perfectly fine with the Phillies winning, due to the Roy Halladay factor.

Joel Sherman, who isn't exactly known for pulling shit out of his ass like Ken Rosenthal and other columnists, is saying that a lot of executives around the league believe that Theo Epstein is going to take the Cubs job.
