‘Superman & Batman’ movie will follow ‘Man of Steel’

Plus the fact Gotham is a dark and scary hell hole that most people do their best to avoid thinking about to begin with.
Then why on Earth don't they move? :rommie:

DC fans should be happy that they are getting BvS two months earlier! Cap fans can be happy they are finally getting a May opening for that series. There shouldn't be any complaining! :p
And I'm happy this means two fewer months that we have to hear about this darn thing!

This is a big surprise.

Not really.

GOTG( A marvel film no less) just had the biggest opening for August

WB gets a bit nervous

They realize they're NEVER going to beat a Marvel film with all the good will and hype built up over the last 5 years.

WB moves their largest DC movie yet.

Or it was a pragmatic decision. WB is a business and looking at the current line up for summer 2016, one can see why WB would move their movie to a friendlier date. There is no competition for March and April.

If Cap 3 and BvS did open the same day, it would hurt both of their grosses. They'd have 3 weeks to have a pissing/dick measuring contest before Singer's X-Men Apocalypse and Burton's Alice and Wonderland curb stomped the both of them.

What does DC have to be nervous about? Even two years out, there's a massive amount of hype surrounding their movie (which is only going to grow by 2016), and it's guaranteed to make a freakin huge amount of money.

And there's no way both movies were ever going to open on the same day anyway. So it's kind of a no-brainer to move it to a less crowded month.

I won't be happy until I get a Cap movie during the Fourth of July weekend. :p

Also, moving it earlier gives it time to have more weekends without stiff competition giving it a potentially longer shelf life than releasing it later in the season.

I saw Haywire and In the Blood over the last two nights and I couldn't help but wish that Gina Carano had been Wonder Woman. Someone even made a jab at her and called her "Wonder Woman" in Haywire.

Looks like they're trying to set her up as one of the next big action stars but it hasn't taken. Being cast as Wonder Woman migh thave given her that boost.

Just a shoutout for Carano. I'm still looking forward to seeing Gal Gadot in the role.

Yes, I've always liked the idea of Batman being sort of an urban myth that nobody is really sure about.
I do too, but could someone like that operate for a decade or more and possibly fight off a rogues gallery and never be seen, especially in a world where Superman can barely keep a secret identity?

The only reason anyone knows who superman is is because Zod forced his hand. Batman is a great planner and as terrifying as his rogue's gallery is, none of them are actually apocalyptic. I have no problem believing he could protect Gotham and maintain a sort of urban legend status at the same time. Most likely there will be any number of people who do actually know he exists - commissioner Gordon certainly, maybe even most of the Gotham PD, and it's a fair bet that if he's an older, grizzlier Batman then he's already had some allies like Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Huntress, or whoever. It's just that the people who do know, for the most part, value what he's doing too much to go telling his life story to the national news.
