‘Superman & Batman’ movie will follow ‘Man of Steel’

Yes, I've always liked the idea of Batman being sort of an urban myth that nobody is really sure about.
I do too, but could someone like that operate for a decade or more and possibly fight off a rogues gallery and never be seen, especially in a world where Superman can barely keep a secret identity?

Yeah, I know. I must admit, I blow hot and cold on how well-known Batman is - I also like the idea of the Batsignal, Batmobile and other things which pretty much put him four-square in public knowledge.

I think the idea of Batman being seen as an urban myth probably works better in an origin story or one set early in his career (like the 1989 film) than one where he's been around for years.

Well I suppose even with a Batmobile, people might think the idea of a guy fighting crime in a bat costume is still just too ludicrous to take seriously, which is why he's mostly gone ignored all these years. Plus the fact Gotham is a dark and scary hell hole that most people do their best to avoid thinking about to begin with.

An amusing bit from the Wil Wheaton Project:

^ I don't agree. Marvel is basically king of the world, if not Galaxy, right now. After the success of GOTG and TWS, they were never going to back down.

People will say it's flinching, but Warners is going to make a boatload of money no matter when the release the thing, so I'm not really seeing why it matters that much. And if anything, they now get to be the first big superhero movie out of the gate that year.

The earlier release date makes sense from a financial point of view for Warner Bros. This makes it the first major comic book movie that people will reach into their wallet for that year. In a not so great economy in the US, I think it matters.

Just like I think Iron Man 3 shaved some off of Man of Steel's totals. Not a lot, but I'm starting to think the timing of release for a movie impacts more than just one movie.

Keep in mind that Batman v Superman didn't just get the hell out of dodge of Captain America 3. Checking movie release dates you have

Captain America 3: May 6
X-Men Apocalypse: May 27
Alice in Wonderland: Through the looking glass: May 27
Finding Dory: June 17
How to train your dragon 3: June 17
The Mummy: June 24
Independence day 2; July 1
Dr Strange: July 15
Ice Age 5: July 15
Bourne Legaxy 2: July 15
Planet of the Apes 3: July 29

You get the picture.
2016 is filled with money makers and blockbusters. Moving Bats v Supes out of the line of fire, ensures the film doesn't have any stiff competition to that billion dollar gross WB wants.

DC fans should be happy that they are getting BvS two months earlier! Cap fans can be happy they are finally getting a May opening for that series. There shouldn't be any complaining! :p
