‘Superman & Batman’ movie will follow ‘Man of Steel’

It seems like no time ago that Eisenberg was linked to the role of Jimmy Olsen. I didn't anticipate them going so young but I like the idea of Lex as a youthful Zuckerberg-type entrepreneur.

Edit - with MOS having a redhead Lois and a black Perry, I would also be surprised if Lex was bald. Crew cut haircut maybe?

Irons as Alfred is a more conventional choice but, again, I like it.

In MOS, though, for my money, the casting was excellent but the movie as a whole disappointed. Here's hoping that the strength of this cast is matched by a stronger script and more coherent direction from Snyder.

Luthor with hair? Hmmmm

BRING IT ON!

I'm not saying he needs to be bald, but it would be nice to see if he actually can get a different haircut from every other movie role he's had.

Jesse Eisenberg as Luthor is truly inspired casting and a great way to go against the usual "vogue bald actor of the month" sensibility that was being touted around so often around the Internet the past couple months.

So true, before he shaved his head for Breaking Bad, no one would have thought to cast Cranston as Luthor.

ummmmmmmmmmmmmm.... don't know what to think about this. Or which casting is a bigger mind fu*k.

I'm totally unfamiliar with this Eisenberg guy.

But we've had non-bald Luthors before. Gene Hackman was only willing to do a couple of bald scenes, so his Luthor wore a variety of wigs. Scott Wells as college-age Lex in the '88 Superboy had hair. John Shea's Lex on Lois and Clark was reinterpreted as a romantic rival for Clark and thus was good-looking with a full head of hair.

I've never understood the Jesse Eisenberg/Michael Cera comparisons. They look nothing alike and Eisenberg is a far better actor.

what the hell? I didn't see that coming. makes sense if he's a younger version of the character. If he's the mogul version... ehhhhh

^^^
He'll probably be a billionaire tech mogul. Bear in mind that Mark Zuckerberg is only 29.
And Eisenberg himself is 30.

Huh. I looked him up on Wikipedia to find out his age and also learned that he was actually born just one week before I was. I thought I was older than him by a year or two.

Also Cavill and Eisenberg are the same age.

So probably no bratty tech geek jumping up and down when Superman messes up their plans

Eisenberg is just shorter than Cavill

He's a confident and charismatic actor who plays the fast-talking geek quite well and I can see him as a Zuckerberg-style tech billionaire, but is this angle right for Man of Steel?

And Jeremy Irons as Alfred doesn't come as a surprise. I could have sworn that someone around here suggested it. Someone somewhere did and he's been in my head as a possibility.

As long as he stays away from real estate.
