‘Superman & Batman’ movie will follow ‘Man of Steel’

I wonder if Batman will have trunks.

As for Kevin Smith's comment, he liked Man of Steel so I'm cautiously optimistic that what we'll get will be good.

[Edit] I don't even remember if the New 52 Batman has trunks or not. Looks like he doesn't.

It'll be nice to finally get away from the all-black look (or in the case of BB, black and ultra dark gray).

This trailer makes fun of the Batman colour motif--my eight year old son isn't really all that familiar with Batman beyond a few T-shirts and cartoons and he found it quite hilarious. (at around 1:30)

The trunks are a reference to circus strong men, which are no longer prevalent in popular culture. These days they just look silly. I really don't understand why some people are so married to them. Getting rid of Superman and Batman's trunks is one of the best design choices ever made, in my opinion.

Good point. You might as well insist that Lois keep wearing pillbox hats . . . . :)

Hardly. Lois is (usually) wearing clothes fitting a working woman in an urban surrounding, which are dictated by fashion. Superman's costume is not.

Sounds promising. Could we be getting a more traditional comic book suit?
That's how I'm reading it...or at least an adaptation of the traditional comic suit that doesn't follow the paradigm set by Batman '89 and other super-hero flicks since then. This news makes me cautiously more optimistic.

I really like the new 52 Batman suit and think that it could be used as inspiration for a live action suit quite easily.

Wondering what the next movie's version of a road atlas or world atlas will look like...and what clues it'll have as to what characters from which comics might show up in future movies.

I saw that this morning. I love it. Even with all of the different versions of Batman I've seen over the years, Conroy is still my favorite. I'm not quite as attached to Daly's Superman, but it's definitely up there for me.

I don't recall people complaining when Robin ditched his speedo for pants.
I'd wager cause in '93/94 when Tim Drakes redesign came the AOL internet was still something like $4.99 a minute with a dial up modem. Even then it'd be hard pressed to know if message boards existed in an earlier state.

Rest assured though I'm guessing a contingent of people would've raised hell given the opportunity as it exists now.

FWIW, I first glimpsed into the magical realm of Teh Internets in late '94, and there were definitely message boards then.

Most of the names don't do it for me, but "Man of Steel: Black of Night" might not be too bad.
