‘Superman & Batman’ movie will follow ‘Man of Steel’

She's been "gliding" on air currents since 1958.
Or as the story synopsis amusingly puts it: "air currants". :)
According to that synopsis, WW also has superbreath (" Wonder Woman would use her breath to blow air into his parachute and float them to safety").

stories in the 1960's and 1970's such as Wonder Woman #228 and Justice League of America #56 and Justice League of America #72 do show her with this ability to glide on air currents.

The main page for Wonder Woman doesn't list flight among her main powers; gliding is mentioned (non-bolded, with an asterisk). More prominent is her power of Size Alteration!

Looks like a typo/formatting error. The size thing is odd, as it was a one off. It would be like mentioning Superman was shape shifter because he once changed his features by rearranging his face.

It's a Batman vs Superman movie, ofcourse they're gonna advertise with these two characters. Wonder Woman, in this movie, is still onlya supporting character, not a main character. By the time her own movie and Justice League will come out, we'll be smothered in toys and cerealboxes with WW.

And I know people were complaining about the issue of female action figures. And I agree with a lot of what people are saying. However, in this case, I needed to comment. Hell, my girlfriend is a HUGE supporter of better female representation when it comes to superheroes in toyline, and even she says people need to realize this movie isn't about her, and she hopes that when Wonder Woman is released, people will actually do the right thing when it comes to the toys and merchandise.
I guess that's a fair point. I guess I just hear people complaining so much about lack of female action figures that I didn't take context into account.

Well, I do completely agree that the representation in general is very lacking. But I'm also curious about how action figures in general are doing. When complained about the lack of Rey action figures, I also heard a lot of people complaining about how hard it was to find Star Wars action figures in general.

I couldn't comment on that, since action figures aren't a big deal here in the Netherlands, and you don't see them that much at all.

In the States, there is a new line of Star Wars toys every year. It's the same toys over and over again, but in different packaging. You can find them everywhere, from Target, Walmart, Toysrus etc. The excuse TPTB gave for the lack of Rey action figures and inclusion in the games was for it to avoid spoilers for the movie. It leaves a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths because Rey is the main character of the film.

Disney also has come under fire for the lack of female action figures and dolls for their Marvel properties. Black Widow for example, has been in 4 Marvel movies so far, and there have not been action figures to go with the film releases. There are collectible toys, but those aren't for children. Scarlet Witch had no action figure for AoU, and Gamora had a few toys when GOTG came out. However, on shirts and backpacks, Gamora frequently is absent. Even James Gunn said he was frustrated with the marketing for the first GOTG movie, when it came to the merchandise.

Disney hasn't really given an explanation for this. However, many (myself included) believe that the lack of female action figures for Marvel and Star Wars comes from Disney's priorities with the properties. Mainly, Disney didn't buy Marvel and Star Wars in order to sell merchandise to girls. They already have their multi-billion dollar a year Princess line of toys and merchandise for the female demographic.

None of this can be proven of course, just like it can't be proven that Disney doesn't sanction merchandise for the X-Men, even though there have been several very successful movies recently and upcoming about them. People have noticed the absence though.

Basically, giant toy companies are still stuck in the '50s mentality.
They have always been marketing "action figures" to boys, and "girly" toys for girls.
So now when they make girl action figures and they don't sell as well they act all surprised like they haven't been telling them, their parents and their grandparents that this stuff isn't for girls...

I think taking away flight from Wonder Woman is just undoing some of the power creep that happened to the older DC characters. They've had to undo some of Superman's powers too multiple times because he was becoming virtually god-like. If it helps the story to have her not fly, then that's the version they'll use.

I'm enjoying the Turkish Airways adverts. Trips to Metropolis and Gotham City endorsed by Lex Luther and Bruce Wayne respectively.

I like Turkish Airlines - the staff were super-nice to me when I was bundled on a flight at 6am while being deported from Saudi Arabia.

Go on, tell us what you did, you rascal!

sadly no great tale - My flight arrived after midnight - thus my entry visa was no longer valid so they detained me, made me sign a piece of paper agreeing to pay 2000 euros and then bundled me on a flight in the morning. Then in Turkey I was deported to the UK.

Awesome news, and yeah, this clearly seems to debunk the rumor that the studio was thinking of postponing the movie or dumping Snyder.

Of course it's probably naive to think that WB isn't also hoping an announcement like this might increase buzz and make people a bit more excited for BvS as well, since it's clearly leading up to something bigger.

That sucked (what happened to you, not your telling of it). At least the airline staff were nice!

Major spoilers here when you combine all the trailers together--pretty much the story in ten minutes, minus whatever big reveal is planned at the end:

I do find it kind of ironic while Disney is having all of this drama over lack of toys of the female superheroes, DC has gone and started DC Superhero Girls, an entire line of action figures, dolls, web shorts, books, ect. featuring young versions of their female superheroes geared entirely towards girls. I think it's actually a nice way for them to counter all of this drama.
