‘Superman & Batman’ movie will follow ‘Man of Steel’

He wasn't trying to kill the Joker, he was trying to prevent him from leaving. It was the Jokers own actions that caused him to plummet to his death.

.

Ahem...

I guess you could argue they were the faster runners known to man and were able to all escape rather than being blown up or horrifically burnt to death...

I was talking about the Joker death specifically. He also shot at the Joker with the Bat Wing. So, yes Batman 89 was not against killing.

My only comments are:

- Based on the pics we have, it seems plausible, at least generally. We need more pics!

- It seems to me that a module (the cockpit alone) taken out of the Batmobile would fit into this conjectural Batboat, which in turn would get carried by the Batdrone. The Batboat as depicted is too long to come straight out of the Batmobile.

- Some of the surfaces you have on the Batboat may in fact go on the Batdrone. It's not clear what you're calling the "garage," but if it's what look like control surfaces then that's what I mean here.

:bolian:

The Batboat would be a separate vehicle from the Batmobile completely, so it wouldn't extend out of it or anything like that.

By the "garage," I'm thinking that the back of the boat/central pod is an empty bay that the Batmobile pulls into and docks with. the rear wheels rotate up and out of the way, and the engine connects to the jets to provide more power. The big spoilers/winglets move up over the top of the plane.

It just struck me as odd that the Batmobile has such a flat profile. At first I figured it was just to present a minimal profile to avoid being shot at, but it's still really long, so that kind of negates that.

Then when I saw the picture of the Batwing it made no sense that it would have a wing that loops around the front like that unless it needs to disconnect from the main control pod and continue flying.

Anyway, we got so sidetracked by the eight billionth iteration of the Batman/Superman killing argument
[Mixer takes the gun away from his head before pulling the trigger and sets it aside.]

(albeit, that was my fault this time since I posted the pic of Batman vaporizing some dudes)
Not your fault at all, you posted something relevant to the movie that this thread is supposed to be about.

that no one commented on my theory that the Batmobile docks with the Batwing (and possibly a Batboat), so I went ahead and made a graphic for it. I'm curious what you guys think.
I think it's a good theory...I noticed right away that the cockpit module looked like a boat. The connection between the boat module and the Batmobile isn't as obvious, but it seems possible.

If that's real its definitely an interesting story, but at this point its something to be taken with a grain of salt.

There's a purported plot outline on IMDB for this. Link

If that is in any way accurate, I like it a lot. I see a lot of potential in it.

Yeah, I like it too. Great mix of dealing with the fallout from MoS, introducing and balancing the abundance of new characters, giving Batman and Superman a strong motive to both fight at first and then later join forces (along with the others), makes Luthor a compelling villain, and sets up the follow-on films nicely. Taken with a massive grain of salt, obviously, but I'd be happy if it turns out to be the real deal.

The only thing I question (but it's not a big deal) is the idea that Batman can be running around fighting crime in that costume, driving around in that car, and flying that plane for 15 years and still be considered an urban legend. That doesn't really work in this day and age.

Yeah, I like it. It addresses some of the issues I had with MoS and seems like a solid introduction to a larger cinematic universe.

Holy crap, if that's true this movie will be epic. Looks like they are using elements of The Death of Superman story as well as some parts of the animated movie.

If that is the real plot I can already hear people complaining that Superman flew off into space whle Batman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman were saving the innocent lives in Metropolis. And this is the second time I've heard of Doomsday's possible apearance in the movie, yet there's been seemingly no real news about it.

If Doomsday is in the film, it's probably a huge secret.

If that plot outline isn't legit, then someone needs to make that movie, because it sounds pretty great.

I know we haven't heard about Doomsday being in the movie, but that does seem to me like the kind of thing they would keep secret.

Unfortunately, you're probably right. And they'll completely miss the point there too, just like they missed the point when Superman "flew halfway around the world to stop the world engine while innocent people were dying in Metropolis," as if the two missions weren't directly linked, and that by destroying the world engine, the one part of the mission which only he could do, he not only saved more innocent lives in Metropolis, but saved everyone on Earth as well.

So, how far along is princicap photography along now?

For big movies like this, principal photography is usually about 60-90 days, right?

I'm sorry but that seems like a fanboy's "choose your own adventure" idea of the way the movie should be rather than an actual movie.

It is like season 4 Enterprise when the plots over-corrected mistakes from the previous seasons and got bogged down so much in details for the fans that the actual pacing of the show was a mess.

Actually Doomsday has been rumored to be in the movie for quite a while... which is actually what makes me question this outline a bit. Because like every other fan outline for a movie I've seen, it basically reads like they took every rumor that's ever been made about the movie and just assembled that into a story. And then threw in a ton of their own fanwanky stuff as well.
