‘Superman & Batman’ movie will follow ‘Man of Steel’

Whatever it is, it's perhaps notable that it is going to be at least largely a real set and not CGI. With the Star Wars sequels going for 'real' sets wherever possible, there does seem to be a bit of a shift away from CGI sets and cities. Which, ironically, is happening even though CGI is now obviously much better than it was at the time of the CGI-heavy Star Wars prequels.
Well, if true, the rumour below (which has been circulating for a while but now is supposedly confirmed by an extra) counts as a bit of a spoiler (though it would probably be officially confirmed before the movie came out anyway). I still think it might be one for the pinch of salt department:

I seriously doubt that we're going to get a kid or teenage Robin in the DCCU, so a 30 year old should have no problem playing someone in their early to mid 20's.

But that aside, if they're using TDKR as inspiration (whether that's good or not) it makes sense to have Carrie Kelly. There can still be Dick Grayson in this universe, he's just grown up and running around as Nightwing now. Which reminds me, DC find a way to give us a Nightwing movie please!

I've never been that attached to Robin one way or the other, so using the female version in this movie is perfectly fine with me.
Of course for me the ideal use of the character (male or female) would be as an assistant investigator, or someone who's off doing reconnaissance work and then reports in with what they find. Instead of someone who actually goes into battle with Batman and is constantly by his side. Because that idea just seems way too cheesy and dated now.

Tim Burton's first Batman film was inspired by TDKReturns and Alan Moore's "The Killing Joke". With regards to TDKReturns, the story Burton used for his film was Book 3. Which featured Batman and Joker's fight.
Nolan used TDKReturns and Jeph Loeb's "The Long Halloween" to craft his "The Dark Knight" film. Like Burton, Nolan used Book 3 of TDKReturns.
Nolan also used parts of Book 1 and Book 2 of TDKReturns for his film TDKRises. Book 1 and 2 deal with an aging Batman getting back in to the costume after nearly a decade of retirement. TDKRises also lifts elements from the stories "Knightfall" and "No Man's Land".
Now Snyder is using TDKReturns for his Batman v Superman movie. Snyder is using Book 4 of TDKR, which features Batman and Superman's epic showdown. Snyder may also be using parts of Book 1, which focus on Bruce coming out of retirement to fight a new threat.
So yeah that's the breakdown of how Frank Miller's book has inspired Batman films. I'll add that Batman Begins (Nolan's first Bat movie) lifted elements from Miller's 1986 book "Batman Year One". Hopefully TDKSA and ASBAR never see an onscreen treatment. Those books are embarassing.

I think that was more speculative click-bait. Just like WW rumored to be descended from Kryptonians, WB's alleged no joke policy, Scoot Mcnairy being the Flash or the scores of other rumors that have been circulating about BvS. We know very little about the film but news sites have to report news. Even if it is making some news up and clouding it under the "reports from a source who has an unconfirmed source who is working on the project", tagline we see these articles use as a trapdoor.
The Star Trek films were best when they were exploring all the different elements that made the original series great. If you think about it, the original seven films could all be placed into "types" of episodes. "The Entropy Effect, Balance of Terror, "time travel" episodes, Errand of Mercy, etc".
Insurrection could have been a great movie emulating a "type" of episode but was hijacked by the producers. My guess is that Nemesis suffered a similar fate but I don't know that.
The point related to this thread is that there are many types of Batman and Superman stories that work. The different flavors of stories in comic books are what give them their depth and lasting appeal. Marvel studios seems to recognize this. It would be nice if the DC films understand this as well.
