‘Superman & Batman’ movie will follow ‘Man of Steel’

Is this first time when actor has played both Batman and Superman on screen? Or atleast dressed up as both characters in movies.

Wow, this is really surprising and very disappointing. Ben Affleck is a pretty good director, but his acting sucks. I would be far more interested if Affleck was directing this and someone else was cast as Batman.

As usual, I find this board's enlightened viewpoint refreshing. Bomer's sexual orientation indeed should not and does not actually matter, but Bad Bishop makes a good point; some people are going to care, and some of them might be studio execs.

Bad Bishop doesn't care about the studio, he's just concern trolling. And his point wasn't a good one, because most people aren't bigots and enjoy Bomer's performances on TV and in movies without caring that he's gay. Many even like the fact that he's gay, and some others don't even know. Regardless, it hasn't impacted the networks or studios that hire him in any noticeable way.

Bad Bishop
frequently drops by when anything about gays is mentioned so he can make some snide remark at their expense. It's almost as if he has some sort of means of detecting gay stories; a gaydar if you will.
Would your file on me fill a ring binder? Just curious. I don't spend a lot of time here anymore.

I am willing to say what's politically incorrect here, and I don't care whether you like it or not. Fans of Matt Bomer are wrong to take offense. I merely pointed out that he has baggage. Who knows, he might even agree.

I actually like Ben Affleck, but casting him as BATMAN???

Ah, Jesus fuck... As if MoS wasn't bad enough...

I honestly just don't get it.

What does he bring to the table that they can't get elsewhere with less baggage? Is he going to be writing/directing the new Batman film series?

I was floored hearing the news on HLN this morning, that Affleck is going to be Batman. He's not that bad an actor, but i won't picture him as Bruce Wayne at all. He may surprise all of us.

Keaton as Batman was good. Keaton as Bruce Wayne was horrible. Affleck as Batman/Bruce I can see working. Cautiously hopeful here.

Well, Affleck can't be any worse than that hack Bale. Definitely a surprising choice though.

One of my old pals taught me this trick post-Gigli... imagine every/any individual role in cinema initially as the original actor, then as Ben Affleck. It's amazing... what's even more amazing is that he's even worse than himself in his own roles. If you can get your head around that. Intriguing.

The easiest one might be: Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly. Then try and imagine that role as acted by Ben Affleck. Have fun! :D

I wouldn't be surprised if that was WB's plan. They seem to have been trying for the last couple of years to attach Affleck (as a director) to pretty much every potential franchise they've got. He was already rumored for the Justice League movie, after all.

Interestingly, Affleck was supposed to play Superman in Wolfgang Petersen's aborted Batman Vs. Superman movie.
